How To Pick The Best Designer Perfume

Feb 27, 2008
The range and quality of designer perfumes on the market is astounding. Perfume has become a multinational industry that invests an incredible amount of money on research and development so that the products that are created are constantly raising the level of quality of the perfumes. As a result it is well worth keeping up to date on the latest developments in the perfume industry.

It is such an exciting industry to be in as it epitomises everything that is glamorous. The advertising companies that run their advertising programs employ the most beautiful men and women to advertise their products. They also employ some of the finest designers to create unique and memorable advertising campaigns. It can be seen as a commercial outlet for high end art. The money that goes into the ad campaigns for these perfumes also gets spent on the best photographers in the world. The industry is highly competitive and as a result the consumer has a wealth of choice in the industry. Making a decision can be quite overwhelming. As a result it is a good idea to seek a bit of advice on how to select your perfume so that you can find the most suitable brand for you without having to shell out on a number of high cost perfumes only to find out they are not right for you.

There is such an enormous range of perfumes that are endorsed by celebrities that it can be a minefield of miss-information. Just because the perfume has the name of your favourite celebrity does not mean it will be good. In fact it is said that some of the some of the celebrity endorsed perfumes that are on the market play purely on their endorsement and do not actually offer a great product. Some of the celebrity perfumes however are excellent and the relationship between the celebrity and the company that have created the perfume works really well.

For example the company that manufactured the Kate Moss fragrance choice one of their finest perfumes to become the Kate Moss perfume. The cohesion between the right perfume and the right face to advertise it meant that the perfume was extremely successful. On the other hand the Sarah Jessica Parker perfume range was founded on her notoriety and popularity with dizzy women. The actual perfume was terrible but nevertheless it sold well as thousands of people wanted to emulate this childless, un-loveable, self-centred and promiscuous sagging women. So it is important that you take time to pick your perfume wisely otherwise you may be lumbered with a scent that you do not intend to use but one that has cost you a lot of money.

One of the best ways to find out about the perfumes that you are looking at is to read reviews that are posted online. Now you have to avoid the sites that promote the perfume as they will always say the perfume is fabulous. You can find good reviews from people that actually own the product. These personal testimonies are a great option for a general overview of how popular a perfume is. The best option of all is to sign up to newsletters from online retailers that sell a wide variety of perfumes. The people that write these have a wealth of personal experience in the perfume industry and actually know what they are talking about. Their advice is also impartial as they generally talk about all the products so have no reason to favour one above another.
