If you have gotten the rush and excited from your first pup or adoption and the feelings have sunk in, it's about time you start dog training basics. The first and foremost thing you'll teach as a new owner is basic commands. These are the common commands you'll need to make your dog obey you.

These commands are used to ultimately increase the bond you have with your dog. You'll hear about some of the dog training tips in just a while. The most common and most used command is the command "sit". This is also one of the most important commands since you need it to ensure your dog stays put, whenever it's owner tells it to.

It's particularly important for people who often visit parks. Use the "Sit" command together with "stay" or "wait", in order to achieve full effect. This is because some dogs may not obey in full and jump right back up after obeying the "sit" command.

If you want your dog to keep out of danger, stay away from strangers, or just keep them away from a certain object then use the "stay" command. It's the second most important command.

The third command is "come". This is another command created for keeping out of trouble. This is to keep your dog within reach of the owner, and it's a very positive thing to have your dog respond to this command. Final results, people are able to keep control of their dogs more easily.

The fourth command is "heel". If you want to have a calm dog walking along your legs, in a graceful pace and perfect control, this is the command to use. It's great if you want to use loose leash or even walk without a leash.

If you want your dog to lie down then use the command "down". This helps for protecting people around you, who are scrared of being jumped by a jumpy dog. Then we have the "off" command which is helpful in various situations where your dog has jumped a certain person unexpectedly. It helps your dog to relax and sit in one place.

So, these are some of the dog training tips, which teach dogs to execute certain functions. If dogs and their owners are able to get over these commands, owners will surely notice that their dogs have become calmer and more alert than before.

Now, apart from the training commands mentioned above, people can refer to different dog training manuals, techniques and dog training e-books. Internet is the easiest and quickest way to find great dog training resources. People can also go through books, audios or videos that comprises of thorough commands to train dogs.

Therefore, desperate people who fail to train their dogs, but fail, can easily enroll their dogs into training programs or seek advice from experts in the field. You can find people who can specifically teach you proper techniques for dog training. As a new pet dog owner it's your responsibility to be a good parent to your new pooch.

So, the more early a person starts training the dog, better is the outcome. Remember that, dog training requires great deal of patience. Hence, use these commands and own a faithful obedient dog, ready to obey the master's orders.
