Six Sigma Training - The Key To Organizational Success

Feb 29, 2008
Training employees in the Six Sigma system is a vital step in any organization's development action plan. Getting the proper training for your employees includes using the best methods and instructors along with a facilitation process which works well within your business organization.

The most important factor is choosing employees with the aptitude, ability and desire to learn the process. Initially, you may want to hire outside consultants, already trained and certified to the Master Black Belt level, to come in and implement the process in order to acclimate your own employees to the system.

This will give you an insight as to who is naturally inclined to statistical and mathematical thinking. Once you have chosen your employees, you can then decide on which training program to use.

Thankfully, there are a variety of options available to suit every situation.

Online Training

Online training is the considered one of the more convenient options available to companies and their employees. There are multitudes of various websites offering online assistance; from universities to internet businesses to consulting firms to dedicated business organizations. Each has their own style and techniques designed to help your employees learn and build upon their burgeoning Six Sigma knowledge.

Six Sigma training is basically self-regulated, so it is wise to have in-house testing periodically to determine the information and retention level of each employee.

On-Site Classroom Training

Another possibility is to hire Six Sigma certified Master Black Belts to come into your business facility and perform intensive training classes for groups of employees. This process will give face to face instruction to your employees without the day-to-day distractions of a fast-paced and oftentimes hectic office.

The trainers will not only instruct students, but also test their learning abilities prior to certification.

Off-Site Training

Finally, you can also send your prospective employees to workshops for their Six Sigma training. This process helps them focus solely on their learning and certification. Various consulting groups offer these intensive workshops throughout the year at a variety of locations across the United States.

Any of these Six Sigma training options are readily available for employers to implement. The only criteria you should focus on are which of your employees has the required mathematical and statistical abilities, along with the desire to learn. Once you choose your Six Sigma team, getting the necessary training is as easy as turning on a computer.
