calorie burning diet can help you to shed pounds and stay fit

Feb 29, 2008
Every year, millions of people turn to diet plans in an attempt to lose some excess weight. Obesity is a huge problem in America, with 40% of the deaths reported in 2000 caused by some obesity-related disease; heart disease, stroke, and diabetes topped this list. So it's no wonder that more people every day are looking for some ways to get the pounds off.

The diet plan most people unfortunately try at some point is to eat very little or nothing at all in a desperate attempt to lose weight. This method never works, because your body simply will not allow it. When faced with starvation the body's reaction is not to burn fat, as you might think, but rather to burn muscle and turn any calories from eating into more fat. This is completely normal for someone enduring starvation, and does not reflect upon your efforts at all.

It is not until much later in the starvation cycle that your body will burn fat; no one, absolutely no one, can go without eating that long if there is food available. And for a long time after you start eating again, your body continues to store food as fat; this is its 'just in case' measure should you face starvation again.

The result of this vicious cycle is that most people tend to blame themselves. They wonder what's wrong with them that they cannot lose weight. In truth, though, it's not their fault; it's simple body chemistry that keeps them from losing those extra pounds.

Another option that people try is gastric bypass surgery or stomach bands. This is an extremely desperate measure, and should only be used if you have tried absolutely everything else or if you have a bona fide medical condition causing your obesity and your doctor thinks surgery is your only remaining option. These procedures have a high risk for complications, are expensive, and usually not covered under medical insurance as it is generally an elective surgery.

What is the answer, then? The real secret to effective, permanent weight loss is to adopt a calorie burning diet. Let's understand this formula: Weight gain is caused by eating too much (particularly fatty foods), a metabolism that is too low, and burning too few calories. A good calorie burning diet plan is the answer to this, as it helps you pick out the right foods that will keep your calorie intake at a healthy level while at the same time raising your metabolism rate. The result will be weight loss that does not cause damage to your muscle tissue, and pounds that will stay off.

There are any number of good diet programs on the market that will help you burn calories and stimulate your metabolism. You should consider it a priority to find one today, as your health is at stake. Not to mention a healthier sense of self esteem.

Sure, you can probably put off waiting one more day and it won't matter. And maybe even one more day. But eventually, if you keep procrastinating, your health will catch up to you. The best plan is the one you start today.
