Spider Vein Treatment: Remove the Red Lines?

Mar 4, 2008
Skin ulcers and dermatitis can happen to you, more so if you have spider veins. This occurs when you exert too much pressure on their walls and valves. Not only they are uncomfortable, they can also make your legs feel numb.

The good news is you're loaded with options for spider vein treatment. You can go for something so easy to do such as regular exercise to something quite scarier and more expensive, such as sclerotherapy. Either way, the decision will still be yours to make.

Stockings Galore

An elastic support hose will not only serve as your good concealer of spider veins but they can also compress them. This will make your legs feel a lot better. The pressure derived from the stockings will stop swelling and aching of the legs.

Sit but Move

Have you ever tried sitting for such a long time? If you do, what do you feel after? Do you feel that sudden rush of blood in your legs? When you are constantly sitting or standing, the tendency is the walls in your veins become too weak. They can no longer push blood towards you heart. The best thing that you can do is to perform common leg exercises or walk around once in a while.

Think of Right Food

Another possible spider vein treatment is to eat foods that are rich in fiber. They are known to remove the pressure felt by your veins. When you suffer from constipation, you tend to push extremely and frequently, which then adds extra pressure in the vein's valves. Don't forget to drink lots of water too.

Hail to the Creams

There are also beauty and treatment creams that you can apply on your affected area. This can be in your legs or even in your face. They contain special formulation, which includes vitamins K and E, which are highly effective in improving blood circulation.

Medical Surgery

If you think that all the above suggestions will no longer work because of the severity of the condition, your next option will be to undergo surgery. It may include surgical vein stripping or laser surgery. It may also mean performing invasive procedures with the use of catheters.

Whatever spider vein treatment that you choose, though, you have to remember one thing: your overall well-being. Do not allow yourself to use any of these treatments if this is against your general health condition. Who knows, you are all the more putting yourself in danger.
