Hunting for London Airport Hotels

Looking for a place to stay in London? England's capital is steeped in history with plenty to see and do! Whether it is a business trip or a West End jaunt or whether you are coming to London on business or pleasure, you will find that hotels and apartment accommodation will leave you more than satisfied. There is a wide range of last minute and all year round options in all areas of the City of London.

If you are visiting with family, you might consider catering accommodation and places to stay near airports or with easy access to and from the airport. If you are the confident and experienced type hunting for a cheap airport hotel, be well advised to ask to see a couple of bedrooms and the shared facilities such as kitchens and bathrooms, before handing over your cash or card. When you choose places to stay, you must think about access to and from your point of arrival. Cheap places to stay near the centre of London might not have convenient transport options but sometimes low cost of transport can be an incentive. London, with a population of about 7 million people is a very accessible city. It has five international airports, an efficient road network and extensive Underground, train, bus, and taxi services. London is a world-class city that never stops evolving. Although it is a modern city and a world commercial centre, it still retains it aura of authentic classic and historical touch. The city is famous for a wealth of history and culture. Home to Britain's national art collections, the Royal family and a host of major attractions, London's rich history, striking architecture and over 200 of the world's best museums and galleries offer a unique cultural experience. Generally, London is a multicultural city that is vibrant with music, fashion and pop culture scene offering visitors excellent shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Visitors come from far and wide to stay in London. London is well served by air. There are several airports surrounding the city. These are London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Stansted Airport and Luton as well as the City of London Airport near the Docklands. Trains to this wonderful capital are adequate and regular. The main stations are Paddington, Waterloo, Victoria and Kings Cross. You may want to travel by road, although costs of parking in London and congestion are important considerations meaning you might prefer to leave the motor at home. Roads are excellent from the country's north, west and south and ferry links to Europe make driving to London easy and fast. Don't forget the EuroStar fast trains from London to Brussels and Paris.

Pre-Book your room before you fly. It is easy to pin your hopes on finding a cheap bargain place on your arrival but this can be a tough and risky decision. As the city prepares for the London Olympics in 2012, the Government has pledged to increase lodging standards across the board. Indeed, London offers every sort of lodging, ranging from deluxe hotels through to family run guest houses, basic B & B's, hostels, short term rental studios and even the odd campsite.
