Your Friends Say "She's Good Enough For You" - But How Good Is "Good Enough"?

Mar 15, 2008
"There is someone for everyone". How many times have you heard that phrase said to you? I hope not much. Dating is so easy. Have you ever wondered how the pretty boys in Hollywood do it? Well, apparently, in the real world, it's not that easy. Dating takes work and if you are new to it, it may take a lot more work, not unless you are 6 feet tall and you have washboard abs. And when you do hook up with someone who likes you, there is no guarantee that you'll stay together for long. And because, dating can feel like a day job for some, standards and choices are compromised just to have somebody there beside them.

Some guys feel that they will just have to settle for the second best or someone their friends or family says "good enough", so what they do is grab the opportunity and settle for who ever the most readily available girl being matched up to them. Thinking that person is "good enough" for them, and again, compromising his own "choice", because of the idea that he can't have it, it's impossible, it can't be. Do you think he at least tried to get what he wants? I hope you are not making the same mistake.

Do you think online dating would be so popular if "real dating" is as easy as clicking the mouse and talking in front of the webcam? Men and women who are finding it difficult to make cold approaches to people they like have found a whole new world of opportunities presented to them through the internet. It gave them the refuge of keeping their pride even when rejected. Online dating has provided them absolute control and privacy to carry out conversations with people they think they could like in person.

However, meeting in cyberspace eventually leads to meeting in person. That's the idea right? Look for someone you like and bring the cyber "relationship" to the next level. When this happens, new fears, worries and questions start to creep in. What if she doesn't like me in person? What if she finds me boring to talk to? What ifs, what ifs. There is a huge difference between dating online and dating women in the real world. There will be no more time to read scripts and guides. But you know what? instead of worrying, you should realize that this is your time to shine.

The truth of the matter is that you now have the opportunity to meet that special person so stop concentrating on yourself and start focusing on her. If you do that, you will also stop thinking about "flaws" that you have conceived about yourself. Later on, when you meet her, say something nice about her personality. Not on a physical level, but on a mental level. Notice how sweet she is. Did you notice how strong her values and personality is? Do you like that? Well then, go ahead and say it. The impact is worth the effort.

Gauge your feelings about her and find out if she's "good enough" or if she's "the one". Never ever compromise your standards or try to fit her into it. Many relationships end as soon as it starts because of this. Remind yourself that being honest to how you feel is also being honest to her. Eventually, you'll find "her" and when you finally do, it's all well worth the effort.
