Great Product with Great Price-Garmin NUVI 1300

I bought the Garmin NUVI 1300 last week. I am quite satisfactory with it until now. I prefer Garmin NUVI 1300 over 1450 though 1450 has many new functions. Each takes what he needs, and I choose Garmin NUVI 1300 for it is enough to meet my demands after a carefully consideration.

First of all, let us have a look at the Garmin 1300 with 1450. The same aspects of the two products are as follow: both the models has the same resolution of 480 x 272 pixels, and the display type are all adopted the WQVGA color TFT with white backlight so that bring you a clear and wide screen for looking. And the batteries are fitted with high sensitive receivers to offer you the ability of receiving signals from the satellite. Moreover, the additional maps can be added into the machine according to your requirements. With a built-in loudspeaker, they can announce the name of position, among which, the 1300 sounder more vivid than the 1450. Though both of them use the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, the service life of the battery is quite different. Due to the 1450 possesses more optional functions, the battery in which can only support 3 hours, on the contrary, the 1300 allow the machine work up to 4 hours. Neither of them can offer the 3D picture of surroundings such as buildings, roads, nor can they proof water.

With regard to the differences, which are also the important factors which made me choose the Garmin NUVI 1300 over Garmin NUVI 1450, I prefer the weight of the former model than the latter one. Though the 1450 has a broader screen with the dimension of 13.7 x 8.6 x 1.6 cm, it weight heavy and inconvenient for me to place in my handbag for I have no car. The Garmin NUVI 1300 only weighs 5 ounces while the other ups to 7.8 ounces. The ultra thin machine is slim and light enough for me. The other difference is that the Garmin NUVI 1300 is a perfect travel partner for getting to small locations such as villages, towns and so on. By downloading the cityXplorer content in to the machine, I can learn where to walk for catching a bus, where to turn for a subway and other transportation, meanwhile, the distance of my terminal points like hotel, shopping center from my position. If you want to buy a machine for your car, the Garmin NUVI 1300 is also favorable. With the ecoRoute device, it can supply you a more economical route for driving thus to save the fuel and time also.

In addition, the 1300 also includes many other tools such as picture viewer, world travel clock with time zone, currency converter; therefore, it may be a great assistant in your journey.

The GPS was exactly what we ordered. Cost a little more than the store but not too bad for the cost and being what it is.This GPS does exactly what it is supposed to do. It follows along in real time with your directions and location. The traffic and map updates for life are so clutch and for it's purpose, it's very cost effective. Love this GPS unit. I drive a large truck in South Texas . All the back county roads are there so far. Haven't lost my way yet!
