Cable TV or Traditional Satellite TV - Choose Neither

Mar 25, 2008
If you are in the market for Cable TV Service I would encourage you to NOT go the traditional route. I would encourage you to not even waste your time looking at them to be honest.

Traditional comparison shopping goes something like this; You call the local Cable Provider and checkout their prices and channel options. That's the first step.

Sometimes this next step really doesn't matter because often the first Cable Provider is the only show in town. But if you do live in a bigger town or city and there is at least one competitor you would then call them up next, check the programs they offer and compare it to the company you previously contacted.

You sooner discover the difference, if any, is a couple bucks per month. Same channel selection, same basic service and package options, with just a different company name.

So you move on to consider traditional satellite TV service. Normally the price is a little better but the local viewing options may be a bit of a challenge. From this pool of choices you would feverishly make your decision. Here's a bit of sound advice. . . Forget that entire process - And forget it now!

There is a new technology for TV entertainment that you may not have heard about. It's called Satellite TV to your PC and it is by far so much better than Cable TV or Traditional Satellite TV, but to be fair all around lets compare the three:

Cable and Satellite TV: $50 - $100 for a monthly subscription.

TV 2 PC: One time only download cost. You literally save thousands of dollars over the years because you don't have to pay monthly subscriptions fees.

Cable and Satellite TV: You get the top 50 or the top 100 at a decent monthly price. If you want more channels you have to pay a lot more money, but you usually can't get more than 500 channels no matter how much you are willing to pay.

TV 2 PC: You get over 4,000 channels that include local TV and TV channels from all around the world yet you still only pay the low one-time download cost.

Cable and Satellite TV: You are limited to local live sporting events for the most part, and if they are not blacked out in your area. If you want something like a total football access subscription you will pay hundreds of dollars for that one season, for that one sport.

TV 2 PC: You get hundreds of live sporting events including Football, Baseball, Boxing, Hockey, Tennis and more. You can watch them even if they are taking place in a different country.

No extra costs involved and you get all the sporting events, not just one sport and you get access to them all 365 days per year, not just for one season.

Cable and Satellite TV: You can purchase one HD TV for one room and it can cost you $3,000 dollars or more... And you know its true. Want to watch that same quality of TV in additional rooms then you have to pay monthly for additional "boxes" and buy more high dollar TVs.

TV 2 PC: With just a one time purchase of wireless routers you can install basic computer with HD Monitors to serve as TVs in about 10 rooms for the same price you'd have to pay for just one HD TV.

However, if you already own a great Plasma or HD TV just connect it to your computer and watch your 4,000 channels in HD from your couch...It's easy.

Cable and Satellite TV: Order service, wait several days later for an installer to come by your home and get you set-up. Hopefully you don't have to pay for that, but there are no guarantees.

TV 2 PC: Click a download button and in minutes your watching TV on your PC.

Now, you tell me. Honestly, is there really a comparison here? Of course not! If you want the best deal, with the widest amount of viewing options, neither Cable TV nor Satellite TV can compare with the new Satellite TV to PC technology.

TV to PC is basically a software application that gives you access to the providers Server which is being feed by the hundreds of Satellites stations from around the world.

That software application allows those Satellite feeds to be sent to your computer. It's really that simple. There is no reason to waste money on a subscription based Cable TV or Satellite TV service that can only offer you a very limited view choice. If you are shopping for television entertainment TV 2 PC is what you want to checkout first.
