Nutrition And Fitness - Discovering

Mar 25, 2008
It's unbelievable but we've all heard it before. To maintain our health we need to exercise and eat the right foods. In order to have both a better quality of life and lifestyle we need to adhere to both nutrition and fitness regimens that make sense. Making good nutrition and fitness habits a way of life should start early so we can gain maximum benefit from them. In fact if you are reading this article right now and are not already taking this advice then by the end of reading it I suggest you get started.

Increase Physical Activities

Daily exercise should be considered the cornerstone of an effective nutrition and fitness regimen. This exercise includes but is not limited to cycling, swimming, jogging and walking. You should plan to employ those Aerobic exercises about five times a week for about 30 minutes each time. You can up the benefits of your cardio workout by adding strength training two or three times each week. It is best to begin with a personal trainer to ensure that your positioning is correct during your weight lifting exercises. Using a personal trainer will allow you to minimize injuries, especially in the beginning phases of your training.

Better Food Choice

The next important piece of a great nutritional fitness program is diet. if you don't change your eating habits to be habitually nutritious then the best exercise routine in the world won't really do you that much good. This should also include a good source of protein. This should be augmented by a daily supply of vitamins. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has revised their food recommendations pyramid to help the general public make more nutritious food choices. By taking advantage of the information contained in their food pyramid you can start to build the habit of choosing nutritious foods and then building on those choices with your exercise regimen. The bulk of a good nutritious diet should consist of vegetables and fresh fruits with whole grain carbohydrates.

Conclusion

Your next step? To take what you've just learned and and use it to create a happy, healthy lifestyle. The idea here is to create a set of positive habitual routines that by there very nature don't require you to think about them. They will happen as a positive consequence of you creating the habits you want to have and then living them. By creating your own daily nutrition and fitness routines you can move toward enjoying the benefits they will bring you.
