What is The Science of Getting Rich?

Mar 26, 2008
Chances are you've heard mention of "The Science of Getting Rich," but you might not know much about it.

You have probably seen or read "The Secret" by now. In the film, Rhonda Byrne, the producer of the film and the woman telling her story in the beginning of the film, talks about a book that was given to her by her daughter. This book was what helped her change her life around. It was the book that taught her the "secret" of the law of attraction and inspired her to share it with the rest of the world.

The book Rhonda Byrne was given was Wallace D. Wattles' "The Science of Getting Rich." The book was first published in 1910, and is a small, easily read book with great power. Wallace D. Wattles was born in America in 1860, and was initially a poor man.

He discovered the power of attraction; how what you hold in your mind determines what you have in your life, and through applying his new knowledge he turned his life around and became a wealthy and successful man.

In his book, "The Science of Getting Rich" Wallace D. Wattles shares his knowledge with the world. In simple terms, he describes how, in his opinion, the world works. And how you need to think and act in order to achieve happiness and success.

"The Science of Getting Rich" explains the concept of Monism, a belief that everything in the world is one, and the "All is one and one is all." Monistic philosophy focuses on how everything is part of the same substance, and everything is part of the same universal consciousness.

Wallace D. Wattles writes about the "law of attraction;" a universal law that basically says that like attracts like. Through our thoughts and behaviors, we attract things to us that match what we are focusing on.

In "The Science of Getting Rich", Wallace D. Wattles gives advice on how to live your life to use this universal law. He gives examples of what to do and what not to do. One of the things he stresses is to keep firmly in your mind the image of what you want in your life, while at the same time keep your focus away from what you don't want.

Although written almost a hundred years ago, Wallace D. Wattles advice is maybe even more important today, in a world where we are flooded in negative images, from the news to horror movies and crime shows. It can be difficult to keep all the negative messages out, but in order to create the life of your dreams, it is vital.

"The Science of Getting Rich" doesn't give you a magical formula that will change your life overnight. Instead, it provides you with the basic knowledge you need in order to create the life you want and gives you advice on how to step by step start from where you are right now.The overall message in "The Science of Getting Rich" is simple but life altering; what you focus on is what you are attracting into your life.
