How Women Can Use Eye Contact to Spark Attraction

Mar 26, 2008
Eye contact is a part of body language that many women do not think too much about. Eye contact, however, can be used to genuinely create attraction between a man and a woman. Think about this - the iconic flirting "picture" is a woman batting her eyelashes, right? Well, there is a lot more to it than that, but they have the right idea!

To establish the right kind of hidden message, you have to learn to hold eye contact for LONGER than the person you are connecting with. This sounds simple, but it is unbelievably powerful and effective when you actually do it with the people around you.

When you see a man you are attracted to, when he looks back at you, do not break eye contact. That is totally counterintuitive for most women - it seems very uncomfortable NOT to look away. But if you want to communicate the RIGHT things to him in order to spark attraction, hold his gaze.

Since most women seem incapable of doing that - it is something he is going to notice about you right away. For a man - different is good when it comes to attraction. Your gaze will intrigue him, and his curiosity is exactly what you want.

You should practice this before you really try it out though. Try going to the supermarket, and looking directly into the eyes of every man you see. Look at him until he looks away. You do not need to try to look menacing or "powerful" in any way - just look at him until he drops eye contact first. Do this until it becomes second nature.

Remember, though, you are not trying to be more POWERFUL than he is, or stare him down like some kind of creepy freak. So try to keep it natural, just direct. If you are talking to a guy - look away every once in a while - that's fine. Just show him from the start that you are not intimidated by him or unsure of yourself.

When you are in the middle of a conversation with him, too, its time to dial up the attraction even more. You can do this but letting something else catch your attention for a little while. When you let your attention wander from him, he will work to get it back. It's also a great opportunity for him to look at you and watch you surreptitiously, which men love to do!

On your first date with this guy - change things up a little for him. Act like "one of the guys", a little more friendly with him and less flirty - keep him on his toes and maybe a little unsure of your attraction level to him. This will make him work harder to try to keep you around, and will also bolster the attraction between you.

These are simple things that women can do to get - and keep - the attraction of a man you are interested in. Keep him guessing a little, keep him working at it, and you will keep him attracted - to YOU!
