Save Money - Rent a Small Car

Renting a car for traveling and holidays may be a nerve wracking decision if you do not know what to look for and where to find. Most of the car rental providers have their online presence: their company websites, phone numbers, tool free numbers and offices. All you would need to do a bit of research to find out the best deal being offered in the market. Some car rental providers provide vehicles with unlimited mileage and some offer restricted mileage rentals. You need to find out which serve your needs best.
Here is my experience: I and my college friends needed to make a road trip to see our favorite band perform in a nearby place. We did not own a car and since four of us were traveling and wanted to make the trip memorable, we decided to rent a car and the onus of research and making the selection fell on me. My main aim was the best price.
I had not rented a car before as this was handled by my parents or my elder brother. I asked him for guidance and he mentioned that internet is the best place to search for the best deals available. He also advised about coupon codes and how they can save me on car rentals. Now armed with this freshly gained knowledge, I spent time on the booking engines and found out a number of deals that were available. I then made a list of the best ones and chose the most economical option - a small car with unrestricted mileage. The caveat was that we need to travel within the boundaries of eight states.
This was fine with us as we did not intend to venture beyond that. We ended up paying 80 dollars each for the trio and this was quite a steal for all of us. My friends gave me some grief for not choosing a sports car or a large sedan or SUV but my aim was to drive the maximum out of our bucks and ultimately everyone realized this.
The journey was a nice time and we had a great fun. The car was a large hatchback and we were comfortable. The money saved by me allowed us to have extra cash available that was utilized fully and enjoyed the band performance to the fullest.
