Nail Biting Is A Bad Habit

There are several habits that man take from his child hood and continues to use even after he reached and attains maturity. This is not appreciable as at times it will look odd. The maturity of age should be reflected in the behavior also. This is highly important when he has to behave in front of important personalities.

Nail biting is a character that many grown up people also exhibit. This will be a reflection of something that they followed from their school days. People will bite nails every now and then. There are different situations where people do nail biting. These situations vary with individuals.

Nail biting is often exhibited by people who are under strain and tension. They do it as a habit. They will be doing unknowingly as a means to reduce their mental depression. It is nothing like they will get relieved from their tension, but they will feel somewhat secure.

Students bite their nails as a habit. This may not be due to tension, but as a character disorder. But the end result of this disorder is that, their health will be affected. Nail acts as a carrier of disease particles and these will enter the child's body along with the nails. This will cause the children to suffer from various disorders.

When grown up, nail biting can cause health problems. Their nails will be totally damaged and will have an ugly look also. More important is the ugly appearance a person gets when he bites his nail in public. People will hesitate to come near and mingle freely as they feel that their nails will be full of dirt.

This is a nasty practice and apart from being unhealthy, it can cause disease. Even worse is the fact that it is very unfitting behavior and a very noticeable one that too. There's times people start nail biting even without realizing because it becomes such an important a part of their life. It becomes a natural option whenever they are faced with any unfamiliar situation or have time at hand. They simply resort to nail biting. This is a habit that needs to be brought under control before you contract a serious ailment through it. Relive yourself from sore and bleeding hands and get on the other side.

There have been many home remedies tried for such a condition. This includes tying of hands, the use of tape to conceal the nails, rubbing of soap on hands so that once in contact with the mouth the bitter taste repels the affected individual.
