Dating Tips - If You Want to Catch Him - Don't Let Him Catch You!

Apr 1, 2008
WANTING is a funny thing, if you think about it. How exactly do you get someone to want something? If you are in the dating market, this is a question you have to be ABLE to answer - because in order to get a partner, boyfriend or husband, you have to know what to do to make the man want you.

It seems like great salespeople are born to it. I know I, however, am not one of them, and most people are not. If you want someone to want something, then, what do you do? Do you try to talk them into it - convincing them that they need it? Do you just give it to them in hopes that they will pay for it once they find out they like it? No.

Scarcity is what actually makes people value something highly. Diamonds, for instance, are highly valued because they are scarce. They are priced high, sought after, treasured and cherished. Wouldn't it be nice to be a diamond?

Now imagine yourself being the diamond. In order to catch a man's interest and attract him, you must be a rare find indeed - chased after, wanted, and cherished. Think about the last thing that you REALLY wanted, maybe that cool new iPhone or something. You HAD to have it, were so excited about getting it - you wanted it. Then you got it, and it was great, but after a few weeks, you don't think about it much anymore do you?

Getting what you want snuffs out the attraction of the item. So - think about this in terms of attracting a man. If you give him what he wants, if you let him "catch" you too soon, the thrill of the chase is over, he has you, and the attraction will begin to fade.

In order to CREATE attraction, however, you have to think of yourself as a wild deer - something a man can never truly tame or own. That is a strange thought, though, for a woman. To most women, this totally goes against the grain of what we want. We WANT to be caught and collared - to us, that symbolizes a relationship. But if you want to create that healthy and natural attraction, you have to resist being caught.

All well and good - but how do you DO that? Try taking a look at the things that tell a man you are HIS. First of all - sex. There are few things that say to a woman "I am in a relationship" more than sex. To a man, however, this is not the case. To him, sex is sex. So - don't give to him for free what has HUGE VALUE to you. Don't have sex with him until you are SURE you have a relationship!

Second, do things like end a great conversation a little early. Say you are having a GREAT talk with him, and you are both into it. Instead of continuing on, though, you make an excuse to have to go, and hang up the phone. This leaves him wanting MORE, thinking about you and eager to talk to you the next time.

You can also do simple things like not answer the phone when he calls. Give him a few hours to stew in it, and then call him back. You are a BUSY, sought after woman. Don't agree to the first date he suggests, tell him you are busy that night, but suggest a different night. Do you see what I am getting at here? You need to let him CHASE you.

Scarcity adds value - and you are a valuable treasure. The great thing is, these tactics can be used to attract a man in the beginning, but they can also be used to keep the attraction in the relationship alive and blooming after the newness has worn off.
