Whey Protein is for More than Just Muscle

Apr 2, 2008
Breakfast is a meal that is very easy to skip. What if I told you there is one breakfast food that is delicious, easy to use and will carry you through your day? Read on my friend.

Step 1 - Grab a yogurt. Step 2 - Throw in a couple of spoons of Whey Protein powder. That's it. That's all it takes. You may have heard of Whey Protein but after you read this short article you will know why you need to use it.

Whey Protein is an amazing and inexpensive supplement. I buy mine in bulk from the supplier shown on the right side of this page and it is very inexpensive considering all the health benefits of eating whey.

In 2003 a study appeared in the Journal of Natural BioChemistry examining the health benefits of whey protein. The results of that study are truly amazing.

Of all the ways that Whey benefits the body, the most famous is building muscle. Almost everyone knows at least one person who is always working out to get larger and stronger. If you ask them about Whey Protein they will undoubtedly tell you that it is essential for gaining muscle mass. If you were to ask them what else Whey does for the human body I'm sure they could not name one other result. Very few people realize the awesome results of using Whey on a daily basis.

The muscles in your body are made up of amino acids. It takes certain types and amounts of amino acids for your body to produce new muscle tissue. If you were to examine the amino acid content of Whey Protein you'd find that it is almost identical to human skeletal muscle. When Whey first arrives in your stomach your body almost immediately moves it into your digestive tract. This is because the Whey is almost pre-digested and is very, very easy for the stomach to process. Once in the intestine, your body sucks it up like a sponge and the amino acids are in your blood stream in minutes. The presence of these amino acids sends your body into a muscle building fury that lasts several hours. If you want to build muscle, this is the best way to do it. Take several servings through the day and keep your body in the muscle building process. You will actually feel the difference.

People know that calcium is an important part of every diet. If you ask most people why calcium is important they will tell you "strong bones." While it is very true that calcium is vital for healthy bones there is a powerful and very little known process that occurs when your calcium levels dip low. When your body runs low on calcium it produces calcitrophic hormones. These hormones do just one thing - increase fat storage! Low calcium = higher body fat.

By eating plenty of whey protein spread out across your day you will keep your calcium levels high and prevent your body from releasing these fat-storing hormones. As a result you will start to lose weight. How's that for healthy bones!

As if this weren't enough to convince you, whey protein also contains high concentrations of immunoglobulin (IgA) which is essential for your body to fight off infections. More research is being done currently but the strong indication is that increased IgA can help your body prevent infections. So far, whey protein has been shown to have strong anti-microbial effects in animal tissue cultures.

The fourth major reason to use whey is just as important as the others. Free radicals are dangerous and unstable molecules that are the root cause of aging and most diseases. Whey protein contains lactoferrin which is a strong antioxidant and neutralizes these free radicals before they can do any damage to your cells. Lactoferrin also makes it very difficult to develop bacterial infections.

Whey protein is a super-supplement. It does so much more for the human body than almost any other supplement on the market. Strong bones, strong muscles, fat loss, anti-aging and a strong immune system; this list of essential benefits should spur you into action to make his supplement part your daily routine.
