Three Sides of Hypertension

Apr 5, 2008
There are three main causes for hypertension...

- genetic reasons

-dietary reasons

- causes relating to emotional tension and stress

Among the three, the most harmful is the third cause, emotional tension.

Genetic Factors:

Primary hypertension is largely caused by these reasons.

Those in the medical community have yet to accurately say which genes are the major reason for the development of hypertension.

Each person's individual characteristics are established by proteins that are made by genes and chromosomes.

The research that has been conducted in this field already has been primarily focused on factors affecting the renin-angiotensin-andosterone system which is responsible for helping the body regulate its blood pressure, primarily by controlling the balance of salt, and the state of elasticity within the arteries.

More than 30% of all cases of primary hypertension can be attributed to genetic factors.

So despite having a healthy nutrition and fitness plan, this means that those with high blood pressure genes in their system are still prone to the disease. (This can however be avoided. I'll explain how later in this article.)

For example, high blood pressure or hypertension seems to be most common for people of African heritage in the United States.

Hypertension cases are low for Asian Americans, on the other hand. And when two hypertensive parents have kids, these kids have a tendency to also get the condition.

It is not normal for unusual genetic disorders to be the cause of primary hypertension, as these cases normally involve secondary hypertension instead.

Dietary Causes:

There are a number of dietary factors that can lead to the development of hypertension, including drinking too much alcohol, consuming too much caffeine, and eating the wrong things.

Being overweight in general can have a large impact on whether or not you develop hypertension, especially when you already have the genetics that lead to the disorder.

Even though you are not overweight, eating the wrong foods can also cause your blood pressure to rise.

Foods high in cholesterol, tran saturated fats and an excess of salt are examples of bad foods.

One of the major "environmental" causes for hypertension is being overweight.

Drinking too much caffeine or too much coffee can also lead to issues stemming from hypertension development if you do not seriously limit the intake of these beverages. In moderation, both are okay.

Emotional Tension and Stress:

If you take on too much more than you can handle at home, or at work, or with social obligations, you may find yourself with a lot of unnecessary stress.

These unnecessary stress will stay with you without you knowing it, and can be the reason for many health problems, including hypertension.

Anxiety is another major cause for hypertension, as it normally leads to a spike in our blood pressure.

If you make it your habit to worry too much, or stress yourself too much, you can develop chronic hypertension.

The major contributing factor for hypertension is emotional tension and stress, and even if there are no hereditary or dietary factors, because of the level of stress that you might be in, you can develop chronic hypertension.

My natural blood pressure exercise program involves three exercises capable not only of eliminating the emotional tension and stress related causes of hypertension, but also some of the dietary and hereditary related hypertension problems as well.
