Lowering Your Blood Pressure To Save Your Life

Bringing down your blood pressure can reduce overall chance of death by 21%! Read on to know about this study and discover how you can be benefited.

A study was carried out recently in order to discover precisely how much difference this makes in lowering down the blood pressure in the aged patients. The results were so much impressively explicit that the study stopped early so each one that participated can get profited.

Of all the 3,845 people who took part in this study, the average blood pressure was 173/91. This study included 195 hospitals in 13 various countries.

During the four-year study period, there was a drastic drop in mortality rates. This was due to the decline in mean blood pressure from 173/91 to 150/61. The overall death rate declined by 21 percent, while deaths attributed to cardiovascular diseases fell by 23 percent. Thirty percent fewer strokes were recorded, and of the strokes that did occur, the death rate fell by 39 percent. Most significant, however, was the 64 percent reduction in deaths due to heart failure. This was the largest decline in mortality rates noted in the study.

This study has proven that reducing your blood pressure can lead to a longer and healthier life. Keeping your blood pressure within normal range should be the goal of everyone.

There are various ways to maintain a healthy blood pressure. Some of the established methods of keeping ones blood pressure in a proper range are described below:

* Routine workout and physical activity.walking to your workplace is a very good option. you should regularly go to the gym. stairs should be preffered over elevators. Simply following these things can keep your blood pressure in the safe limit. Try and modify your daily routine and increase the physical activity of your body. Soon you will see the changes and will be amazaed to see how healthy you have become.

* Prohibition of smoking. If you smoke, stop immediately. You will die early with the inhalation of tobacco smoke. The tobacco smoke is toxic and will kill you by causing respiratory problem. Your blood pressure will portray your habits of smoking.

* Avoid processed 'junk' foods. These processed foods are filled with chemicals and preservatives that your body was never meant to consume. It all adds up quickly and can cause serious health problems after a period of time. Instead, change your focus to healthier alternatives such a fresh fruits and vegetables. You will soon begin to feel much better and wonder why you ever ate so much junk food.

The steps given are just the beginning. Our body is like a home and it should be kept in top condition. In today's world everyone wants to live a longer and healthier life but keeping ourselves healthy along with our busy and hectic life is a tough job. One important thing that should be kept in mind is that our body should not be exposed to sudden changes and should be kept in equilibrium. Keeping these things in mind in order to enjoy your life more and be an owner of a sound body.
