Using a Golf Training Club to Improve Your Game

There is nothing like learning from other golfers from watching the pros for learning the nuances of the game of golf. And when you do that, it is pretty amazing to see how powerful and fast the swings of those who play the game well are. So naturally we want to set out to get this much power into our swings as well. But how to do that is the question. So people who make it their living to help new golfers get their game up have created a golf training club that is focused specifically on this priority.

The internet is full of sites that will sell you great golf training clubs of all kinds and the different models and goals of different ones is really amazing to browse. But to get that powerful swing we want, a weighted club is perfect because it can be used to exactly duplicate your swing during play but to do so while adding weight for resistance which creates stress on those muscles. This is an ideal work out because you are not only improving your swing but focusing on the muscles that are used for a fast drive but also introducing a weight training aspect to your trial swings with the training club.

The first thing you will notice after working out with a golf training club will be some natural soreness. But since "no pain, no gain" applies in working out, this soreness means your muscles are getting stronger and more able to execute that powerful swing you want. But the second thing that will be a direct outcome of your time with the training club will be a vast improvement in your game because of your more powerful and precision swing. The combination of more strength due to your work outs with the training club and the flexibility and limberness being prepared to play brings will be reflected not only in the final score but how much you enjoy playing each day as well.

Even though the golf training club does build muscle, it's important to note that it does not represent a full "workout" in every respect. One of the great things about golf is that you do get good exercise along with a lot of fun. But the need to round out your exercise program is important so that you can focus on specific health needs and to build your ability to play with energy for all 18 holes.

Using golf as a part of a full exercise and health lifestyle is a healthy way to go. Using your quest for a great golf game to become more physically fit overall is a fine priority for your game and for your lifestyle. The golf training club is a good part of a fully rounded exercise program that you and your doctor or health club pros plan to build strength in the lower back and to give you the chance to work up a good sweat and get your heart rate up each week. That will make you feel great and give you the overall strength and stamina for a good game.

You can use your golf training club anytime it fits your schedule but try to plan a little time before each game to put it to use. You don't need some specialized place so any out of the way slice of grass is a good place for you to take the training club and get some exercise with some test drives. The result is the muscles most needed for your drive will be limber and exercised and ready to perform at their best even on the first drive of the game. This is an excellent way to be "game ready" so you step out there and perform at your best for a full day of golf.

That said, there is still good reasons to use the training club with some good old fashioned common sense. One good habit is to finish your arm up swing phase of the game by executing a dozen or so swing with your regular clubs instead of the weighted training club. If you skip this step you may step out onto the course and your body will not be in balance to swing the lighter clubs which could result in mistakes on the early holes. Also use some of that common sense about not using the club when you feel your body is reaching fatigue. You don't want to play the game with exhausted and sore muscles because you warmed up too well.

You might see a training club as something necessary in your first months of golfing. And it is a valuable tool to gain strength and build your physical approach to the game in the first year of play. But you may find that you will keep the training club around for a long time even after you are an "old pro" at golf. By keeping your muscles in good shape, well limbered and toned both through your routine exercise and using the golf training club, you will sustain a consistently powerful and precise swing that will cut numbers off of your golf score.
