Using Your Imagination To Boost Your Career

Apr 13, 2008
The subconscious is essential when it comes to brainstorming. Geniuses always seize any opportunity to learn, from ordinary explanations to unknown meanings. If you start exercising your imagination, you may be surprised to see what great ideas you can come up with.

Subconscious Thought

The subconscious mind is skeptical; therefore it skips from one point to another rather than proceeding on a determined line. It also uses all sorts of unusual combinations by making use of every observation and motivation to craft new solutions to problems. Subconscious thoughts are of great importance, as they are highly creative, and some ideas can make a difference. Some European scientists have proven that inventors made 75 percent of the world's greatest discoveries when they were idle!

There are many stories to support this point, such as the story of Canadian surgeon Frederick Grant Banting. Dr. Banting worked all day to write a long lecture on diabetes, and he was so confused that he eventually gave up and went to sleep. When he woke up the next morning, he wrote about the complete pancreatic duct and the degeneration process. This idea had come up in his subconscious mind in the middle of the night - and this innovation later on led to the discovery of insulin.

Brainstorming Sessions

Every industry has innovative stories like this to prove that thoughts in the subconscious mind lead to successful suggestions. Companies who maintain a competitive edge usually try to reinvent new strategies to serve their clients, and they always search for new ideas to create innovative products and services. How do they come up with these ideas? Through brainstorming sessions.

Though creativity cannot be forced, it is possible to take steps to create an environment that relaxes a person to help generate innovative ideas. If a team wants to think creatively, then they should initially submit an idea prior to their brainstorming session. Teams are usually reminded that there is no such thing as a bad idea; nothing is too outrageous. With a bank of ideas, the team members can get the ball rolling so that the session gets off to a good start. The brainstorming session is usually held in a comfortable environment away from distractions - and all the participants attend dressed casually, so that they find themselves relaxed and thus generate new ideas.

Crafting your career can be very daunting - and sometimes, one good idea is all that you need to achieve success. Your imagination is literally your workshop. Your desires are given shape, form and action through your subconscious mind. Once you are in touch with your imagination, you can create anything and go anywhere you want.
