Engagement Tacori - Wedding & Engagement Rings

Apr 14, 2008
Engagement ring trends have come and gone over the last 10 years, but one style seems to stand the test of time. That style is none other than the vintage engagement & wedding rings design created by Tacori. These beautiful ring styles embody Edwardian and Art Deco fashion from the turn of the century and the roaring twenties. The Art Deco movement was one of the most glamorous in the history of mankind, it represented decadence and success. Art Deco was in essence; decorative, elegant and at the time considered modern. No other time in history has had such an impact our culture, art, fashion, and architecture.

Tacori and its craftsman capture this exciting and opulent time in every ring that it creates. It can be seen in their trade mark hand-engraving, a technique found in authentic jewelry designs from the art deco period. Hand-engraving or otherwise known as chasing is a painstaking process used by jewelry craftsman to place ornamental patterns in precious metals, most often platinum. The process involves the use of a tool called a graver which looks very much like a tiny chisel. The jeweler takes the graver and carves out patterns in the metal while bright cutting the surface and creating a diamond like brilliance. Bright cutting is very much like diamond cutting and it provides an amazingly crisp detail not seen using ordinary or mass production techniques. This can be seen in Tacori's Hand-Engraved collection, particularly in their ring styles 10943, 10937. The wheat pattern carved in this ring scrumptious looking and it really sets of the diamonds set on the side of the ring. All Tacori ring from this collection are available in wheat or paisley patterns.

One of the more notable features of a Tacori ring is the attention to detail and quality. Every ring in their collection is hand-made specifically for the exact diamond that you choose and most rings take 4-5 weeks to make from beginning to end. Making the ring to the diamond allows the jeweler to take necessary steps in scale and perspective. This assures that the sides and prongs on the ring don't overpower the diamond and that every aspect of the ring supports the natural beauty of the diamond. This is demonstrated in the Crescent Collection which features a jewelry making technique called piercing. This technique is used when the jeweler would like to place a filigree pattern in the engagement ring. Tacori's craftsmen use a small tool to whittle the opening in the sides of the ring and create an amazing pattern that is replicated around the bottom part of the ring. The crescent patterns that they originated are often used in their eternity rings. It really lends itself to an eternity-style, mainly because the opening s look great when they are carved multiple times in a mirrored pattern.

Another thing that they like to do is set a small diamond at the peak of the crescent which again looks fantastic. Some of the best selling crescent ring styles are HT2531, and HT2510.
As for the diamonds and gemstones used in their engagement and wedding rings, only the best are used. Every Tacori ring is made with G,VS2 quality diamonds and hand selected for each one of their unique creations.
