You certainly can get a good cardio workout with running and jogging. This can be frustrating if you believe this is the only way to health & fitness doing these exercises.

When you learn how to use this exercise machine, you will increase your stamina, burn more calories, maximize your workout, and have a good cardiovascular workout without hurting yourself, by learning how to use an elliptical trainer.

Proper Movement of Your Legs:

Having too long a stride, or too short a stride is uncomfortable, and you will not enjoy your workout, if you are learning how to use this machine properly in or order to achieve the right stride. Using an elliptical trainer involves moving your legs properly.

Your stride should feel natural, as if you are walking. You may abandon this workout if you are not burning the calories, in order to lose weight, or you feel this is not for you by really giving it a chance.

What to Do with Your Arms:

When learning how to use an elliptical trainer your arms can do several things. Some machines will offer you a total body workout, by connecting the handles with the foot pedals. This gets your upper body involved as your arms move in sync with your feet.

If you do not have good balance you can hold the handlebars, so that you do not move your arms, when using this machine. This another way to deal with your arms when first beginning to use an elliptical trainer.Try to move your arms as you would when running. Doing this motion builds up your balance ability, burns calories, and builds your core muscles.

Give Yourself A Challenge:

When learning how to use an elliptical trainer, challenge yourself. Just as you would with any type of workout. Make sure you vary the speed. Keep an eye on the resistance levels. Start slowly with the resistance levels and increase the levels with each workout.
