Apr 24, 2008
Traditional hand held tools are still favored by many artists, carpenters, professionals and hobbyist.

With the many technological advancements today, hand held tools are still irreplaceable for many workers, hobbyist and the world in general. Although the advancement has brought the many innovations of ordinary hand tools into battery and electric powered ones, others simply stay with their favorite and trusted tools for many years. Traditional hand held tools are very useful and convenient to use. They offer more flexibility and freedom to users as well as the fact that they are more affordable.

The standard hand held tools still finds many uses in the industry today and for the many individuals who likes to do things on their own. It gives them more control and flexibility to reach areas where a powered tool won't be able to do. Many of the small and intricate improvements in construction would need a firm control of hand movements to get the right results - this would be difficult with powered ones.

This is also true for those in the carving industry, where detail is work laboriously by hand to make sure you do not carve out more than necessary of you'll end up wasting the whole product itself. You'll need the right hand held tools to make the necessary carvings and be able to come out with your masterpiece.

In repairing cars, the traditional tools are more favored for its lightweight material and the fact that it enables them to reach hard corners and tighten screws or bolts or what have you. You simply cannot employ high-powered tools with this kind of work resulting that you just might over tighten the screw and your effort will become worthless. Also, powered tools are heavier making it very inconvenient to lug about repairing cars.

Setting your door knobs, locks and other little details around your house will require traditional screwdrivers to properly install the locking mechanism in your door. They are just more convenient to use and you can easily control the force applied to make sure that you won't break anything. This can sometimes be difficult with battery or electric powered tools.

Traditional hammers are still preferred by many, especially those who are in the construction industry since they are more affordable and they are more familiar with it. As opposed to powered hammers where you always need to connect them into electricity, this hand held tool can be used on its own, using only the strength of the handler to exert the right force to drive down the nails.

Painting is still usually done with hand held tools and many painters would not exchange traditional brushes with spray paint. Spray paint is hazardous to one's health because you will be inhaling more paint particles as opposed to applying them manually and carefully with your hands. Also, there are many paint techniques that cannot be done through the use of modern spray paints. The artist is still depending on the traditional brushes to work his art on any surface and worked out the design he has in mind to get the maximum satisfaction.

As the world changes from time to time, with lots of innovations and creativity by ones playful minds and the continuous development and improvement of simple things to greater once, there are still lots of things that can be done at its best simply by using the strokes and the arts of the traditional cultural past.
