The Skill Of A Wedding Videographer

Apr 25, 2008
Videography is an art. Yes a videographer needs the right equipment, but they must be creative. The videographer must have an eye for the right shot that will capture the emotion of the event in a few frames. Some of the most common videography you will come across is wedding videography.

A wedding day starts early in the morning with the preparations and getting ready. The ceremony in the day and the reception in the evening. It is a magical day full of family and friends. A videographer's job is to capture hours and hours of the days events and put them into a powerful clipped movie. It takes hours to video the wedding, weeks to edit the video, and minutes to watch the video. A videographer has a big chore to fulfill in order to make the perfect video that will fit your personality.

Videographers take creativity and documentation and turn it into a sentimental video that will last a life time. Professional photographers must have the right equipment to work with. Ask the photographer about the video equipment they are using. Pannasonic video cameras seem to be popular among wedding videographers. Make sure the videographer is using a professional grade camera. If you get a discount videographer you are going to get a discount video.

Videographers must be informative with their clients. They must make sure that the video will be centered around the people that matter most to the bride and groom. Also they must make certain the video is going to be taken in the best lighting situation possible. Make sure you schedule photo shoots during the best lighting conditions. The videographer will be right beside the photographer and the lighting will effect both professionals.

A videographer must be professional. Sometimes it is hard to find a person that is good at art and is still a good business professional. A videographer must possess both attributes. Painting a picture through video won't do any good if it doesn't have a driven purpose. That purpose being to deliver a stunning video that communicates to the end user. It is business because business is about people. People don't buy anything unless it reaches them. The videographer must be able to reach the bride and groom through video.

Price isn't everything, but it is important. A discount videographer will probably spend a couple hours to video and edit your video. Trust me when I say the result will be less than spectacular. My sister did a discount videographer and her entire reception is fuzzy black silhouettes and some muffled sounds. In order for videographers to make a successful business they must charge accordingly. A professional video should range in price form $1,000-$4,000 depending on what is offered. High definition videos can be higher than that because of the added time it takes to process the footage and the cost of equipment.

A wedding video is worth it's wait in gold. Especially down the road when memories begin to fade and when the newly-wed veil begins to fall. It will be a nice reminder to witness the magic of that special day for years to come.
