Earn Money Working From Home

May 3, 2008
The dream of being able to earn money working from home is one that attracts the attention of many people. They have a vision of lazing around all day, doing the occasional menial task and raking in thousands. Those who tried it certainly wish it were so!

In this article we will examine ways to earn money at home. We will look at some of the less sustainable ways to earn money working from home. We will also look at a way that most people begin with that really is little more than a job without the security, and finally we'll look at a way that can provide real freedom and independence for those who are successful.

We all, secretly at least, love the idea of quick easy money, and those who look at ways to earn money working from home are often initially drawn to these kinds of offers. Don't get me wrong, some of them do work, but rarely do they work well enough to justify the hype that usually surrounds them.

Paid surveys and data entry fall into this category. Both types of offers can be found that pay out, but they often don't live up to the hype. The idea of taking a few surveys in the morning, having a long lunch, and then doing a couple more to end the day several hundred dollars better off is laughable. Data entry won't fill your pockets either.

These kinds of activities are simply not sustainable for anyone seeking a way to earn money working from home on a regular and dependable basis. It's certainly not the case that they are all scams, but scams do exist in this field, so be very careful.

Writing articles for others is an easy way to earn money working from home. You do need to have reasonable writing skills, and the more capable you are the better. However, in the beginning at least you will usually find that you are writing for others who are selling your efforts on. For this reason, unless you are really lucky, don't expect to earn much. About $5 for a 500 word article seems to be considered "good." You can get by on this if you work hard, but you won't get rich.

A progression on article writing is to write for yourself and sell them on. Public label rights, or PLR, articles writing can be more lucrative. The idea is to write a batch of ten or so articles on a particular theme and sell them to a limited number of people at a reduced price. If you charged $10 for the bundle of ten and sold them to thirty people, that would be $300, or the equivalent of $30 an article. Quite a lot better than $5 a time!

In order to earn money working from home and keep it sustainable, regular and dependable, you will have to work at it. It probably won't be easy at first, but after you have ironed out all the kinks and streamlined the process, it will become easier. At some point it may be possible to put together a pool off writers you can outsource work to. That's when you will start to really earn money working from home.
