Deburring Tube

May 6, 2008
Tube deburring involves processes that remove burrs and other unwanted protrusions from tubes and pipes. It often includes tube deburring machines. Such machines also smooth off rugged and rough edges caused by most cutting procedures. Aside from deburring round and square tubes and pipes, they can also deburr slash cut, extrusions and mitered pipes and tubes.

Typically, such deburring machines include specific application of wire brushes. They are designed to remove burrs from tubes with oval, rectangular, or irregular shapes in a short period of time. Take note that every material has its own deburring brush. Such materials or parts include those that are iron, stainless steel, plastic, steel and aluminum.

A typical tube deburring process starts with squaring of the edges of the pipe, concentric to the inner and outer edges of the pipe itself. It is very important that the chamfer does not exceed half of the tube or pipe's thickness. Otherwise, you may end up with a damaged pipe or a damaged machine.

Such machines can be expensive. However, you can avail of tube deburring from companies that offer such services. They mostly combine cutting, bending, squaring and deburring processes. In this way, you can save more time and even money. Most services include - tube or pipe cutting, snap-tube cutting, steel tube cutting, metal tubing cut-off services, custom tube cut-off, volume metal cut-off, lathe-cut tubing and tube deburring.

Tube deburring machines cost a lot and it is impractical to buy a machine for only a few uses. If you need to deburr only a few pipes, then it is better that you avail of the services offered by companies.
