There must be an initial connection that is made or else you'll find that you've lost the audience's attention. Today, people are inundated with advertising that they see every day and quickly discard any advertisement that does not fit within their perspective immediately. You must realise that your writing cannot be for the entertainment of an audience now but rather to sell a product or service.

The headline is read more often than copy at an exponential rate. If you cannot catch someone's attention with the headline, you have wasted the rest of your sales copy. It is estimated that 80% of the success of a salespage is in the headline.

Once the Headline has drawn the reader in and the Body of the text has delivered the message the last,and some would say, the final most important act is to call the reader to action. Like the Salesman who asks for the order the sales page must deliver its objective, to make the sale and compel the customer to produce his credit card..
