Today, Natural Remedy for Insomnia is become more and more popular, many people run a way from conventional pharmaceutical methods and want to use the natural herbs remedy. To find a natural remedy for insomnia is not a problem now, you can get it at your local natural remedy health stores or it also available from internet.

What is Insomnia?

Insomnia is a person having difficulty falling asleep or remaining asleep or a disturbance in sleep that makes them don't feel refreshed or inadequated. Insomnia is a common symptom and is prevalent in young and old alike. There are three different types of insomnia, this includes acute, transient, and chronic.

Transient type is that insomnia which lasts anywhere from one night to a few weeks. While acute type refers to insomnia which refers to the inability to consistently falling or remaining asleep for a period of time, in terms of months. For Chronic insomnia, it is the most serious type of insomnia, and it occurs on most night and last for a month or more.

About half of the Insomnia is caused by emotional or psychological problems. Like, Acute stress, anxiety, depression, mental illness and other behavior-related problems. Insomnia caused by medical condition, like sleep apnea, parasomnia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, circadian rhythm sleep disorders, and mania or hypermania.

Finding a Natural Remedy for Insomnia

Finding a natural remedy for insomnia is not so difficult or arduous task. Many locations across the world offer such products as they know and understand the growing population of people who are seeking for natural remedy medical methods other than the conventional.

One of traditional 'cures' for insomnia is drinking a glass of warm milk before bedtime. Warm milk contains high levels of Tryptophan, it gets converted into serotonin and then to melatonin (the sleep-inducing chemical), some people called it a natural sedative. Try to avoid eating too sweets product and eat more magnesium rich foods during dinner. Magnesium is a natural sleep-inducing component and is found in legumes, almonds, dark leafy vegetables, and whole grains.

Valerian helps to fall deep asleep. This herb has been used for many years in insomnia patients. Valerian produces a drug-like hypnotic effect within your central nervous system. The disadvantage of this herbs is need to take greater and greater amounts of it as time goes by in order to continue to obtain the desired hypnotic (sleep-inducing) effect. But it unlike some other sleep medications, Valerian is understood not to be addictive or having grogginess in the morning.

Another popular herbal remedy for insomnia is Melatonin. It is normally taken by the user about half an hour before the bedtime. Melatonin is in fact a hormone that you can found it naturally in our human body. Report from some experts, they caution that Melatonin should not be used by people that suffer from depression, autoimmune diseases, schizophrenia or other serious illnesses.

Honey is also believed to promote fall asleep and is a good wholesome natural remedy for insomnia. Add 2 teaspoons of honey in a large cup of water and drink before bedtime, it should help. In fact, if you can take a cup of Chamomile tea with honey has proven to be even better. There are some Bedtime tea, includes valerian root, chamomile, kava kava and catnip in the correct proportion is a very calming concoction.

Another natural cure for insomnia, which is believed to work wonders, is to take a pinch of cinnamon and roast it until the colour turns black. Add this in water (a glassful) and boil it. Take this drink before 30 minutes you go to sleep. It is proven and professed to work well.

The use of supplements, like minerals and vitamins in our lives can help to treat insomnia. The B vitamins and Vitamin D, and Calcium contribute in the regulating of the human nervous system. So about 1g of calcium, combined with about 400 units of vitamin B and D complex should in the long run ensure that your insomnia problem is cured.

In India, Ayurveda stated that insomnia is caused by imbalance in "vata". Thru massaging with oil on the extremities with either sesame oil or warm mustard is said to heal insomnia. In many areas of India, this method has been adopted and show very effectively too.

Apply some meditation method, learning to breathe slowly and deeply so as to involve the diaphragm as you inhale and exhale. Try focusing on your breathing, this will encourages you to divert your thought from anything that is stressful and disturbing you. This should calm and soothe your nerves system and lulling you to sleep. Some yoga postures, like lying down without any strain while listening to calming and relaxing music do help reduce your stresses and your body tension.

The use of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been treating insomnia patients for thousands of years. A well know approach is using dietary and lifestyle analysis, acupuncture, herbology and other techniques, with the purpose of rebalancing the body's energies to resolve the problem at a subtle level. Although these method seem unscientific, but many of these 'cures' are sufficient to break the insomnia cycle problem without the need for sleeping and sedative tablets.
