I'm not going to go over how incredibly effective and important article marketing is to your online success because I'll bet you already know that. What I would like to do is to create and build on a solid article marketing foundation for your business. There is no more solid foundation for any business be it online or offline than producing products and services of high quality.

Writing quality articles helps your potential customers perceive your business as one that offers high-quality products and services. Your articles will be one of your potential customers' first points of contact with you and your business. With that in mind doesn't it make sense to give a good first impression? Of course it does.

Another great benefit of writing useful, high-quality articles is that it is a great way to set yourself apart from your competition. You see, many people are not thinking about long-term business success. Many are concentrating their efforts on "instant gratification" through quick, short-term profits. These are the people who crank out poor-quality article after poor-quality article in an effort to flood the market with links back to their website. There is no doubt that even this shortcut method will increase the number of backlinks to their website. The question is how many people who read a poor-quality article will click on the resource box and visit the website? I would venture to say very few if any at all.

Writing quality articles give you and your business more credibility. I can't tell you how many times I've searched for some information on the internet and been completely disappointed in what I found. Sometimes the selection of websites on the topic I was searching for provided incredibly poor-quality information...and sometimes the info they provided was just plain inaccurate. Do you think I would ever buy anything from those websites or any site they would recommend? Would you? Of course not.

The credibility factor is often ignored because it is considered an intangible asset. It is also more difficult to measure that many other factors such as number of backlinks, click-through rate, etc. That, however, does not mean that it is not important. It is important because when you build trust you build a following and when you build a huge following of raving fans you have laid the foundation for a tremendously successful business.

People who trust you are more likely to buy from you not just once, but time and time again. They are also much more likely to listen to you when you recommend another product or service and eventually purchase that product or service.

The credibility that you build writing high-quality, informative articles can have some other surprise benefits as well. Keep in mind that you never know who might be reading your articles. Be prepared for anything from requests for personalized coaching to high-paying consulting offers.

A Few Final Notes:

You may ask the question, "Can I have quality and quantity in my article marketing"? The answer is of course you can. The truth is that producing quality articles becomes easier and easier the more you do it. In the case of article marketing it is true that "practice makes perfect".

Remember, in article marketing, "quality never goes out of style".
