The Ins and Outs of Indoor Tanning Beds

Indoor tanning beds are an artificial way to tan your skin. They allow you to have limited exposure to harmful ultraviolet rays while giving you an awesome looking tan. We all need exposure to these ultraviolet rays to help our bodies receive Vitamin D from the sun; however, if you stay in the sun for long periods you can and will burn your skin. This can result in skin cancer; therefore, the use of tanning beds is becoming very popular. Not only will your receive a beautiful tan but you will also be giving your body Vitamin D.

There are different types of indoor tanning beds. They come in an array of styles and price tags to match. You should learn about each type before tanning so you are sure you are using one that is correct for your skin type. All tanning beds use lamps or bulbs that emit the rays needed to tan your skin. The intensity of these products can be changed for your own type of skin.

Indoor tanning beds give you a safe way to tan because you can control the amount of UV light that you receive. This is not an option when you basking in the sun on your favorite beach. Indoor tanning provides you access to tanning any time no matter the weather conditions outside.

Remember, even with tanning beds too much exposure can be harmful. You do not want your skin to turn pink, red, or burn. Be sure to talk with an assistant at your tanning salon to ensure that the bulbs are adjusted for your type of skin and do not stay longer than is needed to tan.

When it comes to benefits of using a tanning bed over natural sunlight, you will be amazed to learn that their healthy reasons to tan indoors. Using tanning beds can help you tan your skin while minimizing the risk of sunburn and maximize the benefits of getting the best tan for your skin type.

When using a tanning bed for the first time, you should schedule around 10 to 15 minutes, 2 or 3 times per week, until you have achieved your base tan. Then you can slow down your sessions to around one or two visits per week. The most important thing to remember is that you will still need to use a moisturizer to give your skin back the added moisture it needs.
