Body Piercing Places

May 25, 2008
If you're thinking about that first piercing you may just be puzzled as to how the piercing is done, do they use a piercing gun, are is it a needle?

The use of body jewelry is becoming more prevalent in our society with people of all ages joining in, not to many years ago you would have a hard time finding a body piercing shop, well at least one you felt you could trust to do things right and not give you some horrible infection.

The first thing anyone ever asks's me is how much do body piercing's cost, this is a tough question to answer because of the many variables involved. For instance, where you live can affect the price you pay, as well where you want your piercing can be a big factor. Obviously getting your ears pierced is going to be cheaper than a lip piercing.

The next step, for the piercer is to distinctly mark the needle entry point and exit points of the piercing to be sure of a straight piercing. It is also important for correct placement.

Many people are worried about infection, and how they will know what to watch for. Their scared they wont know how to spot an infection before it get's to be a problem. They've heard all the stories about a piercing a friend gave a friend that became infected, or they thought was infected.

If your seriously considering body piercing places for getting pierced there are some things you should keep in mind. Never try to do it yourself or let a friend use one of those body piercing kits the risk of infection is to high. A professional piercer makes a living by doing body piercing and knows the power of word of mouth advertising and will not risk their reputation with poor sanitary conditions.

Many people find the experience of a piercing similar to that of a bee sting. Pain medicine is not usually offered, because it is minimal and short lived. Although, there are some topical analgesics that you might find available.

After your piercer has created the hole in your skin, the forceps are detached and only the cannula remains in place. A implant grade piece of jewelry is fit into the instrument, and then pushed through the hole as the cannula is slowly removed.

New piercing's require extra care in order to heal properly so if your on a budget look for Implant grade stainless steel in your jewelry which is least likely to trigger some kind of reaction or infection.

If you want to broaden your choices a little more you can use 18 K gold, titanium, or niobium these are all safe choices but you will find the implant grade stainless steel is less expensive. the body piercing places you choose should have some jewelry to choose from to get you started.
