Can Your Acne Prone Skin Be Improved By a Proper Diet? Oh Yeah!

Need an answer to your acne problems? Think it is a joke that your acne prone skin can be improved by a proper diet? Acne treatment gels, oral medications, magic potions, well sometimes they work and others they don't, but a change in your diet can certainly help in the battle. Food can actually aid you with your struggle against acne and you can enjoy a more healthy diet in the process.

There are many that believe that the way in which you cook your food can actually work against you if you are trying to clear your skin. Some think that using the microwave to zap your food can actually cause it to release more toxins and thereby adding those toxins to your body and ultimately to your skin. Where do the toxins go? Well, they erupt as acne breakouts. The more you microwave, the more toxins you collect, the more acne appears. When cooking, choose the oven or the cook top stove to heat food instead of the microwave....your skin will thank you.

Along with the way certain foods are cooked, a poor diet in general can also add to the development of acne. Think about it, the American diet is full of far more sugar than one could ever need, along with high amounts of sodium, chocolate, fried foods, processed foods, caffeine, dairy products, seafood, carbonated beverages, and iodine-rich foods. If you want healthier looking skin, then you must choose healthier foods and overall make healthier lifestyle choices.

Of course these foods are all very addicting so in moderation you can still enjoy them without the negative effects of ferocious acne. When consumed in massive quantities, this is when problems begin to occur so be sure to watch out for those large portions. After a bad day, if you feel the need for a chocolate bar do not deprive yourself. As long as these small splurges are paired with a healthy diet, there is absolutely nothing wrong with an occasional treat so go ahead and indulge!

A final tip for a healthy body, healthy diet and acne free skin is all about the amount of water you consume daily. Of course, water is extremely necessary to everybody, no matter your age or fitness, because water helps the body to rid itself of pesky toxins. With eight, 8-oz glasses of water each day, your skin will be hydrated and healthier.

What you eat can indeed leave you with either gorgeous and clear skin or rather craters of acne...really the choice is yours. There are lots of different foods that can help you with clearer skin. Just make the right choice...including drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
