Shaving Verses Hot Wax - Which Do You Prefer?

Jun 5, 2008
In these modern times, getting rid of excess body hair, to achieve that smooth silky finish, for women can be a problem, more so than at previous times. Although it does a pretty good job and accomplishes the task, shaving off this hair doesn't leave your skin feeling soft silky and smooth.

An answer to this problem is to go with an alternate method called hot wax hair removal the results of which are quite the professional finish. It is not the most recent of methods and has been around a while, but it is a competent beauty maintenance treatment and it still stands the test of time.

With a plethora of hair removal products on the market today some people may still be wondering why hot wax hair removal has stood the test of time so well. There are a number of benefits to the hot wax hair removal method but it does have some downsides as well.

Some of the newer approaches to unwanted hair removal are not as cost effective as hot wax hair removal. All of us have at one time or another used a razor to shave off this hair ourselves just because of it's convenient nature, but it's not a very pleasant experience when you nick yourself with the razor.

More often than not nicking yourself happens right when you can least afford the time it takes for it to dry up and stop bleeding, because you are in a hurry and going out. I think the poor guys have a worse go of it though, because having to shave everyday and still getting that dreaded 5 O'clock shadow. That is something that we girls don't ever have to worry about, especially if we use the hot wax hair removal method.

A really great benefit of the hot wax hair removal process is that when your hair grows back after, it grows back thinner and thinner every time. Shaving doesn't come anywhere near as close or smooth, and the more I use the hot wax process, the better.

The dreaded razor on the other hand has the unwanted and strange effect of ensuring you have to use it more and more often as the hair grows back quicker each time you shave. And it usually comes back in a heavier growth also. The hot wax hair removal method has had a bit of bad press though because it's portrayed as a bit painful but it's really not that bad.

When compared to the Epilday hair removal device, you'll understand what I mean. My theory is that a man who enjoys torture invented this little gadget. Use one only if you enjoy pain; believe me in this because mine went into the trash seconds after switching it on, give or take a few screams.

It was one of my old college friends who suggested I try hot wax hair removal, so I went along with her when she next went to have it done. I was so convinced after I tried it, that I haven't used any of the other uncomfortable systems since. I find the reputation for being uncomfortable rather un-deserved, if you compare the alternative methods available, wax removal doesn't deserve this bad rap.
