Infrared Saunas - Sweat Your Way To Health

Jun 6, 2008
Once upon a time, a steam filled sauna was a luxury few could afford. Nowadays saunas are a common feature. However, many people feel that having a sauna means high electricity bills and high temperatures that few can stand.

Traditional steam saunas work on the premise of triggering sweating by exposing your body to very high heat. The sweating causes your muscles to relax and helps to detoxify the body. But you no longer need to obtain the benefits a sauna can give you at the cost of high electricity bills.

Sauna is primarily meant for relaxing and rejuvenating the body. The traditional saunas function by producing steam and high temperatures, which open up the body pores and aid in relaxation.

A sauna not only helps you to relax mentally, but can also help to detoxify the body. The sweating caused by using a sauna cleanses the body of toxins such as nicotine, cholesterol, and other harmful elements the body is exposed to on a daily basis.

The infrared rays are electromagnetic rays that are shorter than radio waves and longer than visible light. The best part about infrared radiation is that it penetrates the skin to about an inch and heats it. In consequence, infrared produces same relaxing effect as the traditional sauna in low temperatures.

Infrared sauna has many advantages and uses. Here are a few uses of infrared sauna:

Infrared saunas are greatly beneficial for people who are looking for weight loss. The concept is simple. When it is hot the body needs to work and maintain the temperature. Hence, when we sweat we lose weight. An infrared sauna can make you burn around 600 calories in 30 minutes.

The deep penetration of infrared sauna can help in detoxifying body both at the skin level and cellular level. This can help in getting rid of toxins such as nicotine, cholesterol, etc. Many people get a lot of relief from their pains such as arthritis and other chronic pains.
