How to check out a new boyfriend or girlfriend

Isn't the Internet a great place to meet people? It worked for me as it has for millions of happy people all over the world. Finding your next date or even your soulmate has never been easier than it is today but the need to be careful about who you go with hasn't changed at all.

Meeting strangers has always been risky because there has and always will be be a small number of people that are out to scam you or rob you or much worse. Fortunately the Internet gives you some powerful tools to do background checks on people that you meet online before you take things too far. I'm going to show you how to do a background check on someone in 2 easy steps.

Getting to know someone before doing a background check on them

It's easy to meet a new boyfriend or girlfriend on the Internet but you have to remember that it's a lot harder to get to know them than it is when you meet them in the flesh. This is because it's harder to tell whether they are being truthful when you can't touch or even see them. Let's face it they could tell you anything they like when they're safely on the other end of a keyboard. They could be pretending to be anyone they want so how do you find out whether they are someone worth placing your trust in and taking things further?

Step 1: Get as much background information out of them as possible

This is going to be very easy. All you have to do is talk to your new friend a lot and ask as many questions about them as you can think of. Take your time doing this because you want to get as much information as you can before jumping to step 2 of the plan. Use the list below to remind you of what you need from him.

1. Full name.
2. An exact address if possible but a general area will do.
3. Age.
4. Married or single?
5. Occupation.
6. Phone numbers - land line and cell phone.

If he's being honest with you then you shouldn't have any trouble finding out this information. If you find that he's reluctant then this might be a warning sign but don't worry yet, he might just be being cautious. If you are intending to take this relationship any further you must persevere with your questioning until you get at least some of the answers from the list. You don't want to meet someone who won't tell you anything about themselves do you?

Step 2: Verify the details using public records and get a background check done

It's amazing how much information that you can find on someone by checking publicly available records. Much of this information is available online but until recently it's been very difficult to find it. It's difficult because you have to go look up so many different things in many different databases. Most people would quickly give up on this task because of how time consuming it can be.

How to find out public records the easy way

Luckily there are now websites dedicated to solving this very problem for you. They pull billions of records of information from databases all over the Internet and some offline sources too and make them all available to you in one place. Suddenly doing a background check on someone is as simple as typing what you know about them into a form on a web page. You can get the information that you're looking for in less than 10 minutes and it's completely confidential. No one will ever know that you checked them out.

Do a background check on people you meet on the Internet now

So first find out something about your friend then go and use a public records website to verify the information that you have and find out a lot more about them. if you already know something about your new Internet buddy then go and check them out with a background check now. You owe it to yourself to check him out before you get serious. You could save yourself a lot of trouble and heartache.
