How A New York Zip Code Map Can Save Your Sanity

Jun 9, 2008
If you're thinking about taking a trip to New York, particularly the New York City area, on business or pleasure, you may want to stock up on a few things. Particularly, a good GPS and some kind of New York zip code map so you can find your way around. New York City is huge, and tourists and visitors can easily get lost in the maze of intersecting streets, crowds of people and bumper to bumper traffic.

For those that like to have their trips planned out, it's important to start planning your itinerary before you even leave. This will give you an opportunity to find the best hot spots for your own particular hobbies or interests. By figuring out the locations of the attractions you'd like to visit you can start plotting them on a New York zip code map to carry with you. If you're brave enough to drive your own car around the city, pre-programming all the addresses into your GPS is also good idea well.

In the long run, having destinations mapped out can save time, trouble and stress. A zip code map is easy to carry around, doesn't weigh much and can't die on you the way a GPS can. Not to mention the fact that they're way cheaper than a GPS. If you're going on vacation, you might as well try and save yourself some money any way you can.

For any person going to New York on business, especially in the sales industry, a New York zip code map may wind up being your best tool. You can be ambitious, and get the whole state, or get a more detailed county map of whichever county you'll be doing business in. By mapping out your prospects ahead of time, you can save time between meetings.

A car's not really going to cut it if you're traveling New York City. You'll get where you need to go much faster taking advantage of the subway, or even just walking. In that case, a GPS isn't going to be the best option. But, even if you do wind up looking like a tourist, a New York zip code map can make it easier to get where you need to go.

A New York zip code map is easy to find online, either for sale or for free. The free maps tend to be low quality though, so your best bet is to buy one for under $20. Not only is it sent to you immediately, but there are no shipping and handling costs because it's not a physical map, but an electronic one. Any good map will highlight major routes and landmarks and shade different zip code boundaries. Any other map tends to be a bit cluttered with every road, boundary and body of water in existence.

A New York zip code map and a GPS may wind of being your best friend on a trip to the big city. While a GPS definitely have more options, it's just a tad easier (and cheaper for that matter) to carry around a map. Save yourself time, stress and even money by just putting a little thought into it and planning your trip ahead of time.
