Generate Best Targeted Traffic With Pay-Per-Click Marketing

People that have websites needing traffic normally find that pay per click can be the most cost effective technique they employ to get that extra traffic. This is still the most effective form of advertising even though there are many other proven methods to generate traffic. Many internet users will see the ads but don't fully understand how pay per click works so below are listed a few hints to make this easier to grasp.

The idea behind this is simple; you can advertise your site on another (possibly larger) website that receives a large amount of traffic. Then, whenever anyone clicks that ad, they will be taken to your site, and if they stay there for more than five or ten seconds, you will pay the hosting site a very small amount of money.

Now, the advert you have inserted on another site is directly related to the product or services the hosting site offers otherwise the advert would be wasted. This is a cost effective method because you only pay for the advertising you use so if no-one is redirected to your site, nothing is owed.

Of course with traditional advertising which is very costly, there is no guarantee any visitor will even bother looking at your ad, let alone give you any business. While you may be worried that your competitors might click your ads to drive up your revenues, this is simply not worth their time and does not happen generally.

Because the marketing with pay per click is targeted there is less money lost on advertising in the wrong areas. You basically have a captive audience of people looking for something you are marketing, on a related site they are visiting.

There are a number of these pay per click programs available but it is Google who have captured the market with their Adwords system. All that happens is people will only see your advert if they enter a search phrase or just a single word that you have designated Google to use. Next to the natural search results, you'll find that your ad shows up along the top or on the sidebar.

It is this immediate effect that appeals to many advocates of pay per click marketing. This is a very fast way to learn if you have used the correct wording for a particular advert and it is cost effective as well. This is still the most popular method of marketing because it works and most companies, large and small will use pay per click advertising as a standard method to market themselves.
