Two Most Useful Techniques For Coping With Anxiety

Is anxiety disturbing your flow of daily life? Do you find it difficult to cope with it? Don't worry. Though anxiety is very uncomfortable, you can easily cope with it.

Coping with anxiety is very simple if you can identify whether your fight-or-flight situation is real or perceived danger.

Most often, a situation or an incident might create stress or mild anxiety. But your negative thinking and imagination worsens the situation. So you must be able to separate real risks and dangers from your mind projected negative thinking.

So take control of the things you can, and accept those you can't change.

If a certain situation can be brought under control, then think what to do and how to do it. Other wise, you should accept it and be patient with the things moving. It's not pessimism. You will realize its power slowly.

If you want to cope with anxiety successfully, follow these two important methods...

Challenge Your Negative Thoughts

You are what you think! So just focus on your thought flow. Whenever you get negative thoughts, cross question your thinking. For instance, 'Am I thinking right?' or 'Is it a productive thought?' etc. Then use logic and common sense to over come negative thinking. This is very important for coping with anxiety.

Try to imagine and visualize positively instead of being paralyzed with anxiety.

Learn to relax

Coping with anxiety becomes simple if you learn how to relax. Do exercises like aerobics, yoga and meditation. Especially, breathing exercises will help you a lot to cope with anxiety.

Hold your breathing for a few seconds whenever you are anxious. And learn 'diaphragmatic breathing'. It's the right way to breath. This kind of breathing heals lot of problems.

Having sense of humor also helps a lot in coping with anxiety. Find time to tell a joke or to watch a comedy. And don't forget to keep a smile on your face. If you maintain a joyful atmosphere around you, your mind releases endorphins which induce calmness in mind and body.

And finally, realize that your own thoughts make the vicious cycle of anxiety. Don't take your life so seriously because worry solves nothing.
