How To Market Your Website!

Jun 17, 2008
If you have a website on the internet chances are you are either getting traffic to it or you are not.

So if you are not getting traffic, then you may ask yourself how do you get all the traffic you need?

Well, there are a few ways to market your website on the internet.

First you have to analyze your market. Are you going after a local market or a huge national market. This can make all the difference for a couple of reasons.

The first reason is, you should be using the search engines in your marketing. This is whats know as
search engine optimization.

Depending on your market, this can be a major source of traffic for your website.

Search engines change all the time so you will need to do a couple of things in order to rank for certain keywords.

The first thing you do is research keywords. You can use a service such as wordtracker to see what keywords people are typing in the search engines.

Once you have this information you can then begin your search engine optimization.

Next you will need content for your website. Depending on your market you may need a lot of content in order to rank for your chosen keywords.

You can either write this content yourself or you can hire someone to write it for you.

You will then take a keyword and optimize each and every page of your website for that keyword. Keywords are the staples of your marketing.

If you don't find out what keywords are being typed into the search engines you can forget it.
Cause the search engines will do you no good.

Taking the time now to learn how to properly optimize your website can save you a lot of hassles down the road.

You want traffic and sales, so do take the time.

Next another good way to market your website is through link building. This is where you gain links pointing to your website.

This can be done in a few ways. The most popular are reciprocal links and one ways links. One way links are always better than
reciprocal links.

However that does not mean reciprocal links are bad. Reciprocal links can be just what your websites needs for its marketing.

However, only if you gain links from relevant websites that compliment yours. When you do this your traffic becomes targeted.

And getting targeted traffic is what it's all about. For instance you may be in a local market and not many people are typing keywords in the search engines for your market.

Well, reciprocal links can be the answer for your marketing.

It all depends on your business. Once you do some research, ask yourself where would the traffic coming to your websites be more targeted.
