Jun 20, 2008
Investigations done not long ago indicated that the right diet plan may give very good results in preventing certain health issues and chronic problems, including Candida infections. Adopting the right plan is the first step towards treating yeast infections. But before discussing the connection between candida food plans and yeast infection, we will quickly review what candida infection is and the specific conditions that contribute to it.

When you are healthy, the microbes in your body are kept in check by other beneficial bacteria and the well functioning immune system. Nonetheless sometimes different conditions can conspire to wreck this healthy balance. Candida is the technical name for single cell microorganism that is found in modest quantities in many areas of your body. This includes your mouth, genitals, and guts - and this is where candida can multiply beyond reasonable bounds and start to grow roots, that damage the membranes in your guts and pass into the blood circulation system, to generate symptoms of yeast infection. These microbes can then move all over your body to cause systemic as well as local types of yeast infection.

There are many factors that bring on yeast infection. Some of these factors are related closely to food. Observing diet plans that can prevent yeast infection from spreading is the first and one of the basic moves in and make to holistic Candida therapy. Adhering to the following diet rules, in combination with other nutrition and lifestyle principles can bring positive results to your general health and particularly to your yeast infection problem:

1. Avoid the intake of refined sugar and carbohydrates. Use Stevia instead of sugar and whole grain non-gluten products to prevent candida multiplication (brown rice, buck wheat bread, etc.) by replacing refined carbohydrates. Candidate thrives on foods like refined sugar (simple carbohydrates like molasses and honey) and other refined carbohydrates (any type of cereal, white flour, white rice etc.). Eating such foods can trigger candida overgrowth.

2. White vinegar, mushrooms, dried fruits, some condiments, and canned vegetables can also encourage candida and should be avoided, as should any other food containing yeast or mold.

3. Make sure that your immune system is strong in order to fight Candida. Many nutritionists recommend that patients stop using antibiotics and reduce dairy product intake because this can also produce antibiotics. Antibiotics can seriously weaken your immune system by killing off all and any bacteria including beneficial ones.

4. Dairy products and cow's milk products in particular, should be avoided to because they can lead to allergic reactions create excessive mucus and take longer to digest. Some of the main east infection factors can include allergies and digestive problems. Better alternatives to dairy products of Cow's milk are organic goat and sheep's milk products.

5. Remember also to keep the right acid-alkaline balance to stop Candida over multiplication. Your food plan should include alkaline foods (these are foods like almonds, green juices, fresh vegetables and other foods with sodium, potassium, magnesium, cesium, and calcium). Continue with a moderate intake of acid-forming foods to make sure that you get the right alkaline balance to better control Candida in your body. Alkaline forming foods include grain products fish, meat and most dairy products. This will help you have the right "pH" level in your blood stream. The right level of is around 7.4 although it can be in a range of 7.35 and 7.45. Note that PH goes from zero up to fourteen where zero is the most acid, fourteen is the most alkaline and seven is neutral. Excess acidity will cause Candida to multiply unreasonably.

Note that candida diets can be excellent for preventing all types of yeast infections but only if they are used as the first part of a full holistic program.
