Drink to Your Health

Jun 20, 2008
Staying properly hydrated is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to stay in good health. The benefits in drinking water include increased health and vitality, enhanced energy and weight management. Drinking filtered water greatly improves the chances of hydrating the body in a healthy and safe way. Unfiltered water is contaminated with chlorine, volatile organic compounds, lead and other potentially harmful substance. It is equally important to not just drink enough water but to drink water that is safe and effective in keeping up health and wellness.

Water consumption is essential to health and vitality. The body is made up of 60-70% water and adequate water intake is instrumental in preventing health problems such as urinary/kidney stones, dry eyes, dry skin, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, gout, constipation, insomnia and colon cancer. Drinking filtered water flushes out wastes, keeps skin moist, alleviates headaches, and aids in the digestion of foods. Drinking water is necessary for your body to digest and absorb vitamins and nutrients. Mild dehydration is one of the most common causes of fatigue, and it is estimated the two thirds of Americans are mildly and chronically dehydrated. Symptoms of mild dehydration include chronic pains in joints and muscles, lower back pain, headaches and constipation, dizziness, sleepiness and dry mouth. If you are dehydrated your body will still absorb calories from the foods that you eat, but you will gain no nutritional value from it. It is vital to our health to consume adequate water intake to aid in the absorption of nutrients. Keeping well hydrated also helps to regulate appetite and can play an important part in proper nutrition and weight management.

Drinking an adequate amount of water can suppress one's appetite and speed up metabolism. There is a direct correlation between the quality of the water we drink and weight loss. Drinking filtered water aids in the livers ability to metabolize fat into energy. The liver works in conjunction with the kidneys to help remove toxins from the body. If the water we drink is contaminated, the liver must spend most of its energy eliminating toxins rather than burning fat. As a result, fat is stored rather than being burned off for weight loss. Water is a natural appetite suppressant that can aid in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. Drinking filtered water is an important part of our everyday requirements in staying healthy, active and fit. A diet that includes 8 glasses of water a day will greatly enhance our chances of a happier healthy life style while increasing our energy and vitality and keeping our bodies looking great.

The benefits of drinking filtered water touch virtually every aspect of human life. When it comes to drinking water for wellness, it is equally important to consider the quality of water that we drink as it is the quantity of water that we consume. The best way to keep your body fit, healthy and energized is to drink a sufficient quantity of filtered water every day.
