High School Diplomas: Proof of Maturity
A high school diploma is a certificate awarded to a student for the completion of the secondary level of education or high school. A high school diploma is awarded by the educational institution during the graduation rites.
The look of a diploma may very from school to school but all of them include similar content regardless. For instance the name of the educational institution is always part of a diploma. Some schools have their logos on the certificate wherein it is printed together with the school's name. Others use a watermark of their logo imprinted in the background.
The name of the recipient or the student is also written in a high school diploma which is completed by the phrase: "Has completed the course of study, prescribed by the Board of Education for the High school and is therefore entitled to this Diploma." The date in also written in the diploma. On the lower part of the diploma, the signatures of the school president, and the principal is also written as their signatures attests to the validity of this document.
Receiving a diploma is popular for being one of the biggest rites of passage in a person's life. This means that a student has successfully completed the basic education required by the government for the youth. This is usually given during the graduation ceremony where the student's name is called out and he or she walks onto the stage to receive the diploma.
A lot of countries and companies require people to get a high school degree as a prerequisite for hiring. Countries such as the United States and Canada considers a high school diploma as the basic requirement before employment, especially in higher paying jobs.
