These are just some of the important things to consider when you're trying to figure out how to pick the best sales career.

Think about retirement. You want to pick a sales career that's going to pay you indefinitely until you decide to quit-not when they say you're too old to work.

Being an employee doesn't give you much security as you get older- you can be fired without notice for any reason.

Having a sales career in a home business you control is optimum. You can build your sales force and get paid on the efforts of other people. No one can tell you when to retire.

You want to take into consideration flexibility. The makings of the best sales career should be flexible enough that you still can spend quality time with your family and take vacations whenever you want without asking permission from a boss.

This rules out sales jobs completely. In a sales business that you own, you can decide how many hours you want to put into it, when and where you want to work it, deicide your days off, and even go on vacation any time you feel like it.

You must have quality products. Having quality products that you'd be proud to stand by is very important. You just don't want to sell anything. If you have a strong belief in the products, it will come across when you're trying to market them and you'll be better at it.

A good compensation structure makes all the difference. A good compensation plan that is fair and lucrative is ideal. In a typical sales job, you are paid on your production alone; if you're part of a team, then sometimes you'll get bonuses from the efforts of those in your group.

The problem is that once you close a sale, you're done. You have to keep re-starting again and again. There's no residual component to it-at least not in most sales jobs.

The best sales career that is worth you putting in your time and effort should have a residual side to it; in other words, you do something one time, and you get paid on it until infinity or as long as the sale stays on the "books."

This allows you to make a reliable paycheck month after month, even if you decide to take a month off.
In most sales jobs, if you don't work, you don't get a check; however, your bills and other obligations live on.

When you're looking to decide the best sales career to get into, have your set of criteria that's important to you in your mind. Don't settle for less than what you want.

Sacrificing for a fast check without thinking of your longevity can put you and your family at risk. A home sales job or a home sales business...you decide which is the best sales career.
