Jul 2, 2008
Kids are constantly under the pressures of alcohol, whether it is at home or at school they always have the pressure to drink. When a kid is in high school most of their friends enjoy going out and partying, at some point during the party your kid could be offered a drink and under peer pressure most try a drink. There are thousands of deaths and problems related to drinking: DUI's, drunken fights, emotional disorder, addiction, etc. Schools these days have extra curricular activities to help keep you kid out of trouble after school. What schools should have are rules that have no-tolerance of drugs, alcohol and showing up to school hung-over, these rules should apply to everyone. For parents, it is easiest to show your children that alcohol shouldn't be abused but used to celebrate a happy occasion and every once in a while. These strategies will definitely improve the overall balance of alcohol and your home.

Today auto accidents have become more and more common. This is because drunk drivers have frequently crashed and killed innocent bystanders. Friends of the driver should not allow each other to drive home especially after a particularly long drink. When going out with your friends you should have designated driver that will stay sober the whole time. Consistently the drunk driver isn't always the one who pays for driving under the influence. Entirely abstinent families have become victims of driving under the influence. People who pay taxes pay an average of about 21 to 24 billion dollars a year just from drunk driving accidents. The figures are horrifying and enlarging at a steady rate, in 2004, 25,000 people died. Death can sometimes quickly come if you drink heavily, or even if you are just a bit tipsy, don't drink and drive, be safe, have designated driver.

Alcohol gets to be that reckless part of you, that alter ego that appears like a black sheep of the family, only to rain on your parade. It's the kind of friend that moves in uninvited, steals your food, makes out with your girlfriend and doesn't pay a dime in rent. The perennial bad tenant, that wrecks your property, lets weeds grow in your garden and then only departs when forcibly evicted. But above all it's a substance that wrecks your health and causes so much unnecessary suffering, a drug you willingly pour down your neck for the sake of sociability and to block out the daily pounding of life. It's not until you can see it for what it is, an interloper in an otherwise beautiful existence that you realize that this substance takes on a life of its own, once you allow it to enter your body.

Some people realize without too much help that alcohol is damaging their lives, adding unnecessary hurdles to the average day or week. If you find yourself concerned that means your drinking habit has excelled to a different level. You should probably seek assistance if you are getting uncomfortable with your want to drink. A quick determining test is asking yourself a few key questions, here is a quick sample of this test: "Have you not been able to go to work because of drinking?" and "Have you avoided friends and family because of drinking?" The test will involve about 20 questions of this caliber. Most experts say that if you answer 'yes' to any of these questions you should see professional help. The first step to getting rid of a problem is recognizing that there is a problem to be rid of.
