Sometimes the doctor will have the laboratory close by and you can obtain your results on the same visit. But often times, you will need to reschedule another consultation with your doctor as he will have to wait for the laboratory to deliver the results.

Having a high level of cholesterol can be very bad to your health as it can lead to heart disease as well as other diseases. High cholesterol levels can also disable the function of many of our organs and affect your over health. There are some items which you need to take out of your daily meals as much as possible. The main items you need to get rid of are fatty foods, salt and unnecessary carbohydrates. It is imperative for those that have a high level of cholesterol to maintain a proper balance of cholesterol. This can easily be accomplished by increasing your daily diet with foods high in good cholesterol and decreasing foods high in bad cholesterol.

When you start on your diet to lower cholesterol, do not expect immediate results as it will take a few weeks before you see any results. By lowering your cholesterol today, you will avoid any complications that can arise such as heart disease and death. Just remember to increase your consumption of foods high in fiber and decrease fatty foods and salt.
