Magical Colds & Flu Recipe and The Wonder of Garlic

Jul 15, 2008
I thought I would share this REALLY WONDERFUL elixir with you all. It is my mother's recipe for colds and flus. It has been a standby for me all my life.

Cut up some oranges, mandarins, satsumas, lemons, grapefruit or any other citrus fruit you like. Transfer it all to a big jug and add any or all of the following ingredients:

ginger root cut up

chopped garlic

whiskey (or whatever your favourite tipple may be)

a generous portion of honey

You could also add herbs and spices, as the fancy takes you, and then pour boiling water over the lot, brew as a tea, and drink as much as you can as hot as you can manage until you feel better. You can top up the pot with fresh boiling water until the ingredients are exhausted, and then you need to chop up a few more ingredients and start again!

This wonderful elixir will really pick you up whenever you feel unwell. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Fabulous Garlic

This herb is the number one item on my list of the finest foods for detoxification. Garlic is a great cleanser and sterilizer of the digestive tract, creating a harmonious environment within it. It's cleansing, cooling and soothing. Nasty fats and cholesterol deposits are removed, the liver is cleaned and encouraged to health and settles the other digestive organs. Garlic also cleans out the arteries, improves the skin, one's overall health and balance of the mind.

A good recommendation is to eat one clove at least every day.It is best not to cook it and its benefits get destroyed and don't fry it with onions either. Garlic can be added to food once it has been cooked. In this way you will enjoy its full health benefits.

If you find that there is a strong smell coming away from your skin after you've eaten garlic, then this demonstrates how much you needed to detox. This is in fact a real indicator of your requirement to detox your body. The thing is to just keep going. Get one garlic clove down you every day and you'll find that in no time at all the smell will disappear. This will meant that the garlic is doing its job in getting rid of all those nasty toxins.
