The Innovation of Home Study Courses

By Susan Atkinson
Jul 16, 2008
Home study courses are innovative, and students can choose the ones that interest them most. Home study courses are offered for those who cannot attend regular college, and if people are working.

Many established colleges and universities also are providers of home study programs. Students who cannot enroll as day scholars can seize this opportunity of earning degrees from selected institutions.

Home study courses are acceptable if taken through an accredited college or university, distances learning ie: teleconferences, mail order workshops, home study workshops may also be used but are limited to 15 hours per renewal cycle. Credit is given for instructing, if it is not a part of your regular employment.

Home study courses are offered by hundreds of top universities and by all branches of the Armed Forces. More people enrolled for home study courses last year than entered all colleges and universities as freshmen! Home study courses are eligible for up to eight (8) hours of paid time.

The option for Continuing Education Credit (CEU) for distance learning courses is often available. This CEU credit offers the flexibility educators need in order to provide excellent Professional Development alternatives.

Home study programs are convenient for those who need flexible hours of study. These courses do not disrupt one's personal life. Nor do they carry the usual tensions of term times and deadlines. Using the home study provision, one can study courses ranging from school to college, or even train for a career. Some of these courses instruct one to start one's own business.
