The Labrador Dog And Its Personality

Jul 18, 2008
Do a little research and you will see that the Labrador dog is the most popular breed of dog on the planet. There are a multitude of reasons why the Labrador dog is so popular and if you know up front what the Labrador dog is like then that makes it easier to assimilate the dog into your life. The Labrador dog is popular as a seeing eye dog for the blind or as a family pet. Either way the number of Labrador dogs in the world today suggests that the breed is doing something right.

For professional people to trust a breed of dog to be a seeing eye dog then that dog must be obedient. In order to be a good family pet a dog must also be obedient. The Labrador dog is known for its obedience and as long as the dog knows it can trust you then it will follow your every command and make daily task training extremely simple.

For a dog to know the things it needs to know in order to help a blind person get around that dog must be extremely intelligent. The Labrador dog is known for its intelligence and the high level of intelligence in the Labrador dog is one of the big reasons why it is trusted to be a seeing eye dog for the blind. This intelligence is also one of the main reasons why it is so easy to train a Labrador dog and why the Labrador dog is so easy to make a part of your family.

A properly trained Labrador dog can also be a wonderful and fun companion for children that are not too small to be running around with a dog. The well trained Labrador dog knows when it is playing too rough and can also tell when someone has been injured. They make wonderful friends to children and they can also be a lot of fun for the whole family as the Labrador dog is known to love to play.

It has been mentioned that a properly trained Labrador dog can be a wonderful play companion for the whole family, but what about an untrained Labrador dog? If you do not teach your Labrador dog the limits of proper play activity then it can tend to get out of control and play very rough even with children.

The Labrador dog is not malicious at all, it just needs to be taught boundaries or else it will keep playing until someone gets hurt.

They will tend to not know when enough is enough and can become quite rough at play when not properly trained. So be sure you take the time to teach your Labrador dog the limits of good fun.

Intelligent, obedient, energetic and extremely loyal are just some of the traits of the Labrador dog. There is no more popular breed of dog in the world and when you put everything together that makes it a good breed of dog there is no wonder why so many people love to have a Labrador dog for their family or their every day life.
