Jul 19, 2008
Collecting masonic collectibles, which have historical value and the fundamental principles of honor, integrity, trustworthiness, and dependability that has been held by masons from around the world. Collectors who collect masonic collectibles know that masons members of a mysterious society that is the largest in the world known as Freemasons.

Masons are a large group of idealistic and selfless men, who are also known as Freemasons. Freemasonry is a wide spread order in western society that is compiled of men, which does not allow women to become members. Masonic collectibles are extremely popular and it does not seem that the popularity of these items will be decreasing any time soon either. Masonic collectibles are surrounded by the same type of mystery that surrounds the masons themselves. Part of this is due to the secret rituals that are performed by the masons society that has lasted for hundreds of years.

History has shown collectors that this secret society of Freemasonry first began during the period of medieval time. The most popular masonic collectible would be one of the ceremonial masonic swords, which is partially due to the historical connection of the masons with the ancient society of the Knights Templar. There are a variety of different types of masonic collectibles available on the market today for collectors to add to their masonic collections. Some of these masonic collectibles may include art, watches, rings, lapel pins, tie pins, and tie tacs that bear the famous mason square and compass emblem. Other articles that collectors may want to include in the masonic collections would be masonic Bibles, clothing, aprons, paperweights, and many more.

The majority of masonic collectibles a collector will add to their collection will bear the highly recognizable square and compass emblem of the masons or even one of the other symbols that holds a variety of degrees with the Freemasonry. Many masons themselves are collectors of masonic collectibles due to their inherent interest and the brotherhood that surrounds these items. Collectors that collect items like masonic collectibles are very passionate and diligent individuals, who are willing to spend time and effort on their collections. There are some masonic collectibles that are expensive, but others can be found that are relatively inexpensive, and for a collector to acquire these pieces the collector must be willing to spend more time and effort than money. Masons are constantly doing extensive charitable work while instilling a sense of honor and pride in young members of the fraternity of Freemasonry's.

Freemasons even have their on stamp collecting organization called the Masonic Philatelic Club. This organization was the brain child of Trevor Fray of the Saint John Lodge # 70 located in Plymouth, which is located in the United Kingdom. The very first stamp he collected that referred to masonry was issued in 1973, which commemorated the bi-centenary of the Grand Orient. So this masonic stamping club started collecting stamps that dealt directly with theme of masonry. When an advertisement was placed in a stamping magazining for the members of Freemasonry the advertisement immediately received fifty replies and their club was born.
