Computer Spyware Hijacking Removal

Jul 20, 2008
In this guide, you'll learn quick and simple steps on how to remove spyware hijacking software. Now you don't have to be a geek to do this. I've taught many of my family, friends, and clients how to do this.

The 1st Step in Spyware Removal

If you have some precious information on your computer, you'll want to back it up first. If the malicious software has infected any files on your software, some of your files will be deleted. So after the whole process is done, scan your files to make sure they're not infected. If they're not, you don't have to worry.

Scan Your System for Spyware

Most people have anti-virus on there systems. What they don't have is a anti-spyware removal tool. If you don't have one, the first step is to get one. Once you have it, the next step is to make sure that it's up-to-date.

What you'll want to do is scan your whole system using a full scan. Skip the quick scan for now. If you're worried about your system being infected, you might as well do a full scan to insure that you've go all of the bases covered.

Does Windows Have a Command To Remove Spyware?

Microsoft Windows doesn't have a specific command or keystroke to remove spyware automatically. While I wish there was, removing spyware or viruses isn't Microsoft's specialty. So even if it did exist, I wouldn't even use it.

Identifying the Spyware and Remove it

Once you scan your system, your software will most likely give you an idea of what you have. It may also give you an option to backup files or your registry. Most of the time, I skip this step. While backing up files are important, we've already covered that at the beginning. I usually go ahead and perform the removal step.

Completely Clean Out Your Computer

No system is clean without doing a virus scan. So turn on your anti-virus software if you have one available. If not, you'll want to make sure that you download a reliable one. After doing so, do a full scan. If you're system is clean, then you'll be worry free.
